So would this coverage suffice for ~$2,000 worth of costs, and how much would this cost in total since it would be for two people (originally noted on insuremytrip)? Is it like cruise fares where rate is based on double occupancy or is it a final price for both people and entire trip? And finally, would this be a good idea - going from SFO-->ATL-->FLL then transfer to MIA for cruise 5/16-5/23 (flight arrives day of cruise via Redeye from SFO), going on Valor to Cayman, Roatan, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico, then back to SFO via transfer to FLL from MIA port for flight at 2:10pm 5/23 with a stop at JFK. Flights: Delta Airlines, Transfer: SAS Transportation, Cruise: Carnival

The "total policy cost" that insuremytrip is showing is the total for all travelers whose information you entered in the quote form. If you entered ages for both and all of your trip costs for both (the form does ask if the trip cost amount is per person or total for all) then that cost figure should be correct including Travelex's $8 per policy fee.

If you're both under $34 the per person premium for a $1000 per person trip cost is $25. So your total wold be $25 + $25 + $8 = $58 so it looks right. If your ages are different or if that $2000 trip cost is per person and not total for two then you did something wrong.

Remember, the Basic plan does NOT cover any pre-existing medical conditions if that is a concern for you.

The $15,000 for medical is at the low end of the industry standard but if you already have a medical plan that covers you while outside the country that's less of a concern.

Looks like I got it right and that makes sense - thanks.

No, not really a concern.

I was wondering about that and am now thinking only emergency medical would be a better idea. Something like MedEx where it would be ~$25 total for $50,000 worth of emergency medical, $100K for evac, $20k for repatriation (God forbid) is looking good.

Thanks again!
