robtraci Posted January 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2005 We are booking our own airfare in May coming in late (11pm) the night before the cruise. Has anyone ever done their transfer from Orlando to Port Canaveral? Can I purchase a transfer from the RCCI? I have to imagine a taxi would be pretty expensive. There is 4 of us going all adults. Any suggestions would be great. Should we go over when we get there or wait until the morning? Thanks Traci
Starlake666 Posted January 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2005 We are using Art's Transportation Service....they have limos, vans etc. We have used them in the past and they were GREAT. There are 7 of us, plus luggage. The charge is $90, plus tip, one way. They pick you up at the baggage claim area and also again at the port....holding a large sign with your name. stillfrantic Posted January 26, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2005 You can stay at the airport that night, then rent a car in the morning and drive to the port. Return the car there. It should cost less than $50 and allow you to follow your own schedue.
suncruiser Posted January 26, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2005 We took the Mariner last February and came in the day before, rented a van at the airport (about $70 total - the RCCL transfer was higher than that and we had use of the van for almost 24 hours), stayed at the Radisson at the Port, returned the van the morning of the cruise in Port Canaveral, and they had a shuttle to take you to the port. It all went very well. A little delay waiting for the shuttle at the car rental return, but nothing more than 20 minutes.
cmwlv Posted January 26, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2005 We are leaving on Sunday but don't sail until Monday, we are staying in Cocoa Beach which is 3 miles from the dock. We are going through a shuttle service and they are charging us $55.00 one way from Airport to hotel and then coming back on Monday and charging us $3.00pp from hotel to dock. Hope this helps
