All Summer Ecstasy Cruisers- What Are Your Excursion Plans?

We are booked for Aug. 7th on an Aft cabin. Now that I'm past the stress of choosing a cabin and booking at the best price, I'm focusing on excursions. So, what do all you wonderful cruisers plan to do with your time on shore?

Hi wwwangels,

We're on the July 10th sailing (1st cruise for my 2 sons, age 12 & 9).

Thinking about doing Carnival's dune buggy tour in Progresso. For Coz, probably will just grab a cab and take the boys to Paradise Beach (for the beach/water toys).

U?

The past few times when in Cozumel, we have just gotten off the ship and taken the short walk to El Cid Hotel. You can buy a day pass there. It includes all you can eat lunch, all you can drink (alcoholic and non alcoholic) You can 1 hour of snorkeling. They have planned activities throughout the day (example: crafts for the kids). They have some shopping there. The pool and spa are freshwater (that's a nice change from the saltwater on the boat). Have fun on your cruise!

Do you know if they still offer shore diving at El Cid? We went diving off the steps ther at El Cid a few years ago and the sea life around the sunken plane was nice. They had a little dive shop there by the El Cid patio area.

We have been to Paradise Beach. It was okay, cheaper to buy your tickets online than to go through Carnival. We had to be pushy about the water rafts and other smaller water toys. They just don't hand them out. Although, there were alot of jelly fish in August. I hope you don't encounter that in July. We are thinking of doing a dune buggy tour in Coz and a ruins tour (ugh-hot) in Progresso. Hope you have fun. The dune buggy looks very cool.

Thanks, it is really nice to hear exursions that are not always offered by the cruise line. Having options is always a good thing.

That sounds totally fab. How fun!
