CCJack Posted April 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Does anyone know if the ship computers that you can use (for a charge) have USB ports available. I would like to pack all of my cruise, shore excursion, phone numbers, etc. on a flash drive rather than take paper copies. Some internet cafes lock out the usb ports. This would be a convenient way to take lots of info along on cruise.
Lsimon Posted April 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2010 No. Celebrity has no access to the USB ports. Your better bet is to email this info to yourself if you might need it or store it on some other online site like Google Docs
Fblack Posted April 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2010 Celebrity blocks USB ports. The computers are so slow some times that trying to access your documents on line is not very efficient... and can be expensive. My cell phone can read .pdf and other files. Maybe you can store the stuff on the phone. Or just take paper copies.
oldmanbob Posted April 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2010 Similar to what is mentioned on the previous post... I too have a very good Adobe pdf reader application installed on my Motorola Droid... I believe there are similar apps for other similar phones. I can scan the items I need into my computer as a pdf file and email the pdf's to myself on my phone. I also make sure I have a very good password on my phone in the case I lost it... I also have the Solstice deck plans on pdf in my cell phone.. this is my first time on this ship and I want to ensure I do not get confused on the different points of interest on the ship. Another option is to take careful pictures of your paperwork with your digital camera and carry that info on a separate flash card. Then you should be able to easily print the data out at the photo shop on board or a drugstore at a port of call. enjoy yur cruise! Just be careful with whatever medium you choose, as you do not want to loose such important personal data.
