Priceline Hotel Bids

I used priceline for our hotel in San Juan too...we needed a total of 6 rooms...I got 5 at different times and we were able to all get the Marriott San Juan and Stellaris Casino as well. I have one more girlfriend who needs to get a room, I hope she gets the Marriott too.

We bid $120 per night...we are staying 2 nights before our cruise in December. We live by Price-line for hotels. They did ask what area we wanted and we picked Condado.

My question is:

Do they charge taxes on top of what you paid to Priceline? In other words, when we check out will there be a Puerto Rico tax that we have to pay? I've gotten various responses.

I don't believe so. They didn't the last time we were there.

No, there is no additional tax that you have to pay but there is a resort fee. If I am not mistaken, it is a percentage of your daily rate. I read on the CC board that it averages between 14% and 16%.

If you don't use the pool you can request that the fee be removed. We did.

I did not know that! We usually do not use the pool. We are staying at the Marriott Stellaris in October. I will ask to have the fee waived if we are charged. Thanks for the tidbit!:D
