csa question

4 people are booked in a room paid in full, one person can't go because of a medical condition that happened suddenly. It is 18 days before our trip so 1/2 her $$ goes back to her paid by the cruise line and the remaining she must claim through csa (so the cruiseline told me).

Now for my important question...with the remaining 3 people does our room rate go up since we are less one person even though we are all paid in full already??

That's a question for the cruise line unrelated to any insurance you may have. What did the cruise line say? Generally, going from a quad occupancy to a triple occupancy booking will not increase the total cost of the booking to the remaining passengers once final payment has been made. But check anyway. If this isn't a family booking but instead four unrelated individuals, depending on how the four passengers originally split up the cabin cost (in a quad usually the first two pay a higher fare than #3 and #4) the four of you may have to juggle some money around among yourselves to make it come out right. But you shouldn't have to send more $$$ to the cruise line.

If your question really is will CSA pick up the difference if the remaining passengers now have to pay more to the cruise ine then the answer is "yes." Under the "occupancy adjustment" benefit you'd get the following:

"We will pay your additional cost as a result of a change in the per-person occupancy rate for prepaid travel arrangements if a Traveling Companion’s Covered Trip is canceled and your Covered Trip is not canceled."

Youi would not be able to file a claim until the cruise is completed in case you find a replacement for the canceling passenger. And, of course, the person that cancels has to do so for a covered reason.
