I've never had to fill out a form of any kind

You don't fill out the froms. The casino does it. The last time I bought in for more than $10,000 cash in one day, I was in a positon at the craps table to see the Pit computer and saw the Pit Supervisor holding 2 pictures of me, apparently taken by the eye in the sky and transmitted directly to the pit

Hi all, I was recently cruising on the Explorer of the Seas, (Royal Caribbean), and I did a bit of gambling and I was approached by one of the casino staff who asked to fill out a form with all my personal information. They had been tracking me and I guess they are going to figure out if I qualify for any comps on my next cruise. Just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to receive reply's from the cruise line?? How do I become a royal member? This is my first cruise where I have been approached so I'm pretty excited about receiving any comps!!! lol Anyway if anyone out there has any information for me I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!!

Last year, cruising on Carnival Inspiration, I did pretty good.

Got a Straight Flush on 3 card poker with $15 bets(about $700), then a 3 of a kind the next night on $10 bets (about $400 total)....

I tried the slot tournament 3 times, didn't qualify, and while waiting on the wild card drawing, sat down at 3 card poker again, bought in for $100....put down $15, $15, $15 blind.(let the dealer turn them over)...STRAIGHT FLUSH!!! another $700ish, the others at the table were a little pissed....they were all down, and I sat down, played blind, and HIT.

Then they drew my ticket for the wildcard on the Slot Tournament...so the 8 of us began.....they had our scores covered. The guy running it knew the outcome so he started uncovering one at a time, starting with the lowest.....Then it got down to just me and the girl beside me....I offered her a deal....If I win, i'd give her $100 of the $500...and if she won, she'd give me $100.....She refused!....then I WON!!!....everyone gave her a hard time....then I bumped into her at breakfast the next morning...she said "is the deal still good".......I just laughed.

Cruise paid for, excursions paid for, and came home with about $800 extra!

We've been members for over 3 years and we usually get about $800 (between us) off our next cruise. We also get free drinks in casino - we were asked to join while on cruise and received cards in the mail about 4 to 6 weeks later.

Their email address is clubroyale@rccl.com if you want to find out if you are a member of whatever. Enjoy!

$15k at Let it Ride on Majesty of the Seas 3 years ago. Played $50 and still don't really know how to play that game, or anything else in the casino. It was an awesome experience! I would love to learn how to really play!

Ignorance was obviously bliss! (Don't ruin your luck by learning the game:D)

Took family and parents on the maiden voyage of Oasis in 12/5/2009. Parents have limited income and would not be able to go if I didn't pay their way. Mother usually brings about $200 to gamble. After going to the show on Thursday night, she stopped in the casino to play several hands of Caribbean Stud Poker. First hand she hit a royal flush, and in addition, the dealer opened. The jackpot was over 25k, and won about $1,600 on her bet. In case any IRS agents viewing this post, yes, it was reported on their tax return, and no, they did not reimburse me for paying for their trip:)

Best we ever did aboard ship was to win the amount of our cruise for the two of us - about 4K - on RCI Splehour OTS. DW (blackjack) and I (blackjack and craps) pool our funds daily so it's a little hard to tell who won and who lost how much.

Shalom, Andy.

My wife and I won two iPod Nanos from the quarter game on our honeymoon cruise on Freedom last year. They're not cold hard cash, but we use them almost every day and they're a nice reminder of our trip. Considering we usually play the penny slots, they're probably the most we'll ever win.

While we were playing, someone came up to watch us and after a few minutes asked, "Who left their iPod in there?" (Please keep in mind they were in their original packaging.)

We won them both from the same game. The second one got stuck halfway down the chute, so the casino manager had to be called over to determine whether or not we had "won" it, since it hadn't actually fallen out. He stood there for about a minute considering. All of the nearby dealers gathered around in silence, watching him. Before he could speak, my wife, who was sitting at the machine, said, "You know, we're on our honeymoon" in the sweetest voice possible. The entire group burst out laughing.

1st time cruiser, but have won quite a bit online....plan on bringing laptop if some downtime. I am also more interested in checking out St Martin casinos. Anyone have a favorite casino there?
Since you are cruising for the first time, please let me point out a couple of things. I'm not sure that playing online will be very successful on a cruise: the shipboard internet connection is very slow - it goes through a satellite, so think of it as running at dialup modem speed. Also, shipboard internet is not cheap by any means. For example, on Princess ships, the cheapest package costs 40 cents per minute (250 minutes for $100). This rate is about equivalent to the house edge playing blackjack at $100 per hand!

When the ship is at sea, the casino will be open for much of the day - typically noon to 3 AM or so. It's closed when the ship is in port, but then you can often fins a fast hotspot for connection. But why pass your port time on the Internet?

Good kuck and shalom. Andy.

It has been my experience that Carnival will give you a 1099G for a big win, can't remember how much. And you have to give them your SS# and other information before they pay you. Royal Caribbean does not issue one.

Neither does Celebrity (Under Royal Caribbean).

$1,199 is the threshold amount for reporting of slot (and wagers paying over 300:1 odds) winnings in the US.... and Carnival.

One has to wonder WHY Carnival feels the need to supply this information when it is obviously not required of them. Is there some "backroom" deal between CCL and the IRS?

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
