What is Quasar? Is it the game or the name of a bar?

Hi,:) yes, you got it. It is a bar with seats that swing too. A DJ plays music as well.

We were sorry to see that for this class of ship they moved the disco out of the Observation Lounge on the top deck (Cosmos on Millie) and stuck it in a small area in the shopping mall section of the ship.

I think (and hope) in time, they will take the space "Quasar" is in and use it for something else. We love the Cosmos Lounge on the M Class ships and there is no reason not to use it for a disco at night -- not much "observation" going on in a dark ocean at mid-night.

We are going on Solstice in June -- Quasar will be part of my review...

We would love to hear others comment...

There is dancing in both venues on S Class ships at night. There really wasn't anything comprable to Quasar on M Class ships--it is much more of a clubby vibe and I seriously doubt it gets replaced. On some cruises at least, it is a very happening place. And the location is really ideal-in between the casino and the showroom. People pop in before and after shows and before and after losing money in the casino!

Hi Jo and Rob,

I have seen that you have lots of questions about the Celebrity ships. It looks like you are very excited about your upcoming Celebrity cruise and have lots of questions.

On our last cruise with Celebrity which was a TA in Nov/Dec 2009, it was very rare to see a crowd there. It is one of the areas that is off limits to kids after 11:00, but most of the time there was nothing going on.

We cruise with our kids and they were usually free to accompany us almost any where on the ship and welcomed. I think if there are people there they have late night dancing, but usually everyone is someplace else unless it is a particularly large young adult crowd on the cruise.

They also held Name that Tune and some other games which were generally open to all ages, though they some times had things like Wii bowling wich were specifically listed as adults only. But there is no shortage of things to do with your kids on the ship.

When our kids were younger they loved doing stuff with us, and that was partially true for this last cruise, but they were also 11 and 13 on this one so they liked to do things in the youth program and get away from us too.

I don't know if you have seen the information about the Glass Show, but take your kids to one of the earlier ones during your cruise. My 13 year old son was hooked and never missed another show. They do a special youth show where they make three glass sculptures from drawings that the kids have designed. The kids really loved this show.

I have some pictures up on the web from our Solstice Cruise, just type in Solstice Transatlantic Cruise Arizona in a search engine and they should come up. It will give you an idea of what Celebrity Cruises with kids are like.

Quasar is a bar/club on the same deck as the casino, martini bar, shopping venues, etc, and close to what Celebrity calls the "entertainment court."

I actually like the location of Quasar because it is more accessible than the M-class discos. It is really easy to simply stop by.

In fact - she was a finalist. Great song Suzanne! And I was one of the ones that always went to the glass show. I didn't miss a chance - unless we were in port. Anyway here is a question for Suzanne - do you remember where the retail shop is where you bought your great dress last year in Cartagena? Alan and I are doing the TA on the Equinox this October and I would like to go to that shop. Hope all is well with you and your family! :)

Loved Quasar. It is an up-scale intimate area with a DJ - great decor and great vibes. Hopefully, it will never get replaced with something more mundane. It is very convenient to just drop in for a dance or two and then go to a show or wherever else you are headed. As I said, loved it.
