lazarru Posted April 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2010 We're going to have a day in Vancouver at the end of our cruise, leaving the day after the cruise ends at noon. We'd like to maximize our time and not spend alot of times getting to hotels, can anyone recommend hotel to stay out such that we'd have as much of the day to do something in town and have a easy trip to the airport the next day. Some things we're considering doing include Grouse Mountain Capilano Suspension Bridge Mountain View Conservation & Breeding Centre Granville Island Not sure which yet but don't know if that would impact where we should stay
smslms Posted April 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2010 It depends in part on how much you want to spend on a hotel. There are any number of hotels downtown within 5 -10 minutes of the pier, or there is the Pan Pacific which is the most convenient as it sits atop the pier. Best to buy day passes for the transit system as you can then ride the skytrain, bus, or seabus all day for about $9. The city is fairly easy to navigate so you should be able to fit in the things you have mentioned. Have fun.:)
Putterdude Posted April 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2010 With your agenda I would recommend finding a hotel downtown, there are lots within 5 to 10 mins of Canada Place. You won't have any problem visiting Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge on the same day and a quick visit to Granville Island on your next morning...but watch you time as you will need to be att he airport a full two hours before your flight time and the island is about a 30 min drive to YVR. However, the Mountain View Conservation & Breeding Centre is going to be a bit tricky as it is located in Fort Langley a full hour east of downtown Vancouver so it will probably be the Grouse Mtn, CSB or the the MVC&BC. If you choose the Mtn and CSB then you could visit the Capilano Fish Hatchery which just minutes from the other two attractions.

lazarru Posted April 23, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted April 23, 2010 Thanks so much for that information, I think we were leaning away from that anyway due to the time to get this but this may totally confirm that we will remove it from our list
