Video Camera for Cruise

Been living for awhile now without a video camera just using normal camera and the small videos it can do but I think for Alaska will have to invest in one. Any recommendations, not looking for a top of the line but also not the cheapest.

I just purchased a Kodak PlaySport HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera for my trip. It even takes 5 mega pixel photos.

I also have a digital camera with video capabilities. Is that good enough for Alaska or should I buy a video camera? I was looking at a Kodak Zi8 if I do get one.

I do not use a video camera so I might not be the best to answer. I think a good digital with zoom would be much better. I will take 1,000 pictures in a week. Many more subjects than a video camera.
