Just got a room booked in downtown Miami for Courtyard Marriot...has anyone stayed there? Any idea what a taxi would cost for a family of 4 to the port?

Anything good within walking distance? and last, but not least, is it safe to walk around at night in that area?

We stayed at a Marriott by the airport. Please make sure you give yourself a lot of time tog et to the port. We were catching a flight to Aruba for our honeymoon and almost missed the flight because of the shuttle.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise.

The courtyard is about a 4 minute taxi cab ride. The Bayside mall is very close by a great place. The Hard Rock cafe is there and many great shops. It is an outdoor mall on the water.

We went to Bayside in the evening but we took a cab. We didn't feel safe walking at night although we walked during the day. We stayed at the Sheraton just down the street.

We stayed there last Nov before the cruise and there is a shuttle that will pick you up at the courtyard its $5 per person to the ship. We walked to Bayside mall at night and there was no problem but if you feel safer taking a taxi then it shouldn't be to much money only takes 10-15 mintues to walk there.:) :)
