Yes. The only real noise came on port days if the ship was docked on the port side. The gangway is located directly below this stateroom. But even then we never heard any noise that woke us. Maybe because we had excursions booked and were already up. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Balcony View - n/a Balcony Size? Take the elevator directly up to the Solarium. The only real walking you have to do is to the Windjammer which is at the front of the ship. Rare mandyleighflies Posted April 11, 2023 #1304 Share Posted April 11, 2023 Ship - Grandeur OTS Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8512 Stateroom Category – GS Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The stateroom itself is quiet, I never heard my neighbors but all the suites in this area are directly below Windjammer and the pool deck. It can be noisy later at night or when that area is busy. It did not keep me up at night but in the mornings I did hear deck chairs scrapping across the deck above us. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Awesome. No obstructions at all. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal for class. We had plenty of room. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA Any specific problems with this cabin? - Aside from the Windjammer noise it’s a great cabin. Awesome location for accessibility to the rest of the ship as it is near the forward stairs and elevators. Any other comments? - Love the GS room layout. Two sinks and the size of the bathroom is ideal for more than 2 people traveling. Lots and Lots of storage. ONLY 2 OUTLETS. Bring European adaptors. When bed is split into two twins there is still not much space between them so if you’re traveling with others, ensure you can stand basically sleeping with the other person. My daughter and I smacked each other in our sleep changing sides and we had the beds apart. LOL

Normal Was wind a problem? - Yes, balcony door whistling. Also with swells/ rough seas/ wind, the cabin walls popped loudly. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - not applicable Any specific problems with this cabin? - We had both sides of connecting cabins. We kept inside door between cabins open, but only 6 inches between door & bed. Also the outside balcony partition was solid & could not be opened ☹️ Any other comments? - Location on forward hallway was generally quiet. No noise from neighbors. (With comments on problems) – No, quite noisy as it's located under the kitchen, so you hear rolling carts both day and night. They sound like jets flying over. If you are a light sleeper, this isn't the cabin for you. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Overhang from Izumi's, but otherwise unobstructed. Balcony Size? Good size, normal for Jr Suite Was wind a problem? - No. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - not applicable Any specific problems with this cabin? - Both the bathroom door and the closet doors were loose, and opened if not closed and latched. Posed a hazard if someone was coming into the cabin. Any other comments? - The location of many of these Jr Suites on Radiance class isn't optimal. Rare Cayman Turtle Posted May 15, 2023 #1308 Share Posted May 15, 2023 (edited) Ship - Anthem of the Seas Deck - 6 Stateroom # - 6166 Stateroom Category – Obstructed Ocean View Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? – This room is located two decks above the Music Hall. Even though it is slightly forward of the Music Hall, the bass from the music being played by the bands can be easily heard all evening. Most bands play until at least midnight so if the thump thumping sound might bother you, I'd look for another room. Other than that the room was quiet during the day, even considering the closeness of the elevators. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Balcony View - obstructed by life boats (see photos). You can still see the ocean while standing. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Seemed small - not sure if this is the normal size or not. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - It was warm. We thought the A/C wasn't working and called maintenance. After they left the air did seem to circulate more but the temperature settings will only allow you to adjust the temperature by 2 degrees. We had a choice of somewhere between 68-70 degrees to choose from, that was it. Would have liked to have the room cooler. Maybe this was a setting just for our cruise since I've never had an issue with changing temps before. Any other comments? - super convenient location. Close to the Schooner Bar and elevators as well as the Esplanade. Plenty of storage. Edited May 15, 2023 by Cayman Turtle
Katems75 Posted May 28, 2023 #1309 Share Posted May 28, 2023 (edited) Ship -Harmony of the Seas Deck - 8 Stateroom # - 8172 Stateroom Category – Oceanview balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, but there is a service room right outside the room with linens and toiletries in it and so stewards are in and out of it and talking with other stewards there, and the room is often open and looking unsightly. We were usually awake so it wasn't that much of an issue, but it's important to be aware of. We could easily hear our neighbors next door laughing hysterically, too. Fortunately this didn't happen very often. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Fine, unobstructed. There was a LOT of sand on the balcony floor though which was annoying. It needed a good sweeping. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal, but certainly not large. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - Just the service room across the hall which was a little noisy and would cause stewards to sometimes cluster here and talk. Any other comments? - This was a nice location, close to forward elevators/stairs, but next time I would go about three cabins further down (more midship) to get away from the service room but still be close to the forward elevators. Bed is next to the bathroom and couch next to the balcony. This allows a nice big area in front of the balcony and makes it easier to get in and out of the balcony, too. It also makes a nice area to sit in front of the mirror/desk and do hair or make up with natural light. For the most part, yes. This room is directly below the outside eating area of the Windjammer. We were in this room on a transatlantic and the weather wasn't too warm so there wasn't much activity above us. However we did hear the occasional person running through the area in the early mornings. I do think that if you are sailing in a warmer climate the noise from the Windjammer could be bothersome. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Classified as obstructed but only because it is oversized and there is an area that is tucked in out of the way that doesn't have a view. The rest of the balcony is unobstructed. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - The outlet in the bathroom wasn't working (July 2023) Any other comments? - Bathroom does have upgraded amenities and a clothes line in the shower. It does not have the auto night light in the bathroom like the newer ships. Edited July 13, 2023 by Cayman Turtle

Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Any specific problems with this cabin? - No issues at all Any other comments? - Great location for us, very quiet. Very clean. Minimal ship movement, not too forward. Beautiful views. Plenty of storage for two. Shower was very nice, good water pressure. Bed was back near the balcony, which I liked, instead of up by the entryway. This is a connecting cabin - you do need the attendant to unlock it if you'd like to use it. It does prop open but note that there is no way to lock it again yourself for privacy. That said, we had our kids in the other room, connected the balconies, it was perfect. Yes Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Huge balcony with gorgeous aft views. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No Any specific problems with this cabin? - Just some difficulty getting the scooter into the cabin because of the narrow hallway (it took a few tries). Cabin 9258 would be a better option for scooter access as it's almost a straight line from the hallway into the cabin. Any other comments? - 1) My husband rented a small scooter for this cruise and it fit well in the cabin. He was able to turn it around in the cabin without any problems. 2) The main hallway doors (by the atrium) are closed at 9pm in the evenings due to loud music in the atrium. If you have mobility issues, it can be difficult or impossible to open the heavy door without assistance. 3) The hallway from the elevators to the aft cabins is quite long. I counted about 145 steps from the hallway entrance to our cabin.
farjar Posted October 8, 2023 #1318 Share Posted October 8, 2023 Ship - Radiance of the Seas Deck - 4 Stateroom - 4029 Category - Inside 3V Starboard or port side - Port Quiet Stateroom - Yes. I believe any of the cabins in the surrounding area would be also. Connecting - No This cabin is designed for up to 5 people having a king sized bed, two beds that drop from the ceiling and a sofa that makes into a bed. We found it quite roomy for just 2 people and especially liked having the sofa to sit on. It might be a bit cramped for 4 or more. The cabin was conveniently located. There was a short walk to the right to the forward elevators and the Aurora Theater. A slightly longer walk to the left took you to the Centrum area and the Cascades Dining Room. The ship is not huge so everything was near by. We were very pleased.

Yes. No issues whatsoever. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - This isn't classified as obstructed because you can see the ocean without problems but you can see the tops of some of the life boats (see photos) Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - the balcony is larger than most balconies. It is right at the beginning of the bump out so you have a little extra space. Was wind a problem? - No. We were on a transatlantic and the wind wasn't an issue. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - No. Unless you want to count the fact that the door to the cabin is right on the corner in the hallway and you have to be careful when opening (the door opens out) so that you don't accidentally hit a passenger who is taking the corner sharply. Any other comments? - Great location - close enough to the elevators and centrally located for most venues. Not exactly. You could hear some noise from the pool deck above you. However, this section did not seem busy on our sailing as we didn’t hear constant noise. We did hear chairs and there must be a mechanism of some type nearby as we would hear it “whirr” to life occasionally. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Great! Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA Any specific problems with this cabin? - None. Any other comments? Tiny bedside night stands with no outlets or USB ports. gail-s Posted January 19 #1321 Share Posted January 19 Ship - Freedom of the Seas Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 1564 Stateroom Category – Grand Suite Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – We found the room to be very quiet. No noise from the solarium above or other guests in the area. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No obtructions. The sides are made of steel instead of plexiglass because of the hot tub above. The flooring was bubbling up a bit in places. Probably time for it to be serviced or replaced. Nothing horrible, just something I noticed. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - This room is under the port side hot tub in the solarium. As a result, the balcony stick out farther than the ones to either side of it. As a result, there are 2 lounge chairs, 2 regular chairs and a table there. This is not the room for you if you want to sunbathe on your balcony because the hot tub sticks out much farther than the balcony itself. We found it enjoyable. Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - The bathroom is large, with a tub instead of a shower stall. The tub itself is very high off the floor. The bottom of the tub probably sits a good 6-8" off the floor. The lip of the tub that you have to step over was well above my knee and I'm 5'8". So you had to climb into and out of the shower. I could easily touch the ceiling in the shower while washing my hair. I would assume someone 6' or taller would find this shower almost unusable as you would be hitting the ceiling often. The toilet also appeared to be much higher than a regular toilet. My toes reached the ground if I sat on it but not a flat foot. Any other comments? - This room was very nice. Lots of storage. 2 American plugs on the desk next to the bed as well as 2 European ones. There was a side table with drawers and a light on each side of the king sized bed. The light switches are a bit odd and we were constantly turning them all on an off trying to remember which ones controlled which lights. It made no sense. It is located toward the front of the ship, but heading toward the middle. It was a very stable location. We didn't notice the motion much and it was blowing 30-35 when we left Nassau. If you book this room, or another suite, take advantage of the suite lounge. There was hardly anyone there when we went in. Snacks and free drinks before dinner. Cindy was the concierge on our trip and she was wonderfully sweet. She booked our dinner reservations for us before we got on board which was a big help. Playmakers was packed for the playoff football games so we'd go up to the suite lounge and watch the games there. There is also an outside seating area attached to the lounge just for suite guests. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Nope Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - It’s a nice oversized balcony on the back side of a “hump”. Lifeboats are just aft of it - a friend joked I could just jump into the boat from my balcony.
