Ship - Symphony of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 10629

Stateroom Category – Central Park View Balcany (2J/1J)

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom?  Yes, however we did sail at 42% capacity so my experience may be different than others. The Trellis Bar is directly below on the opposite side which may be an issue with noise if the ship has more passengers.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Looks over Central Park, directly on to the Trellis Bar.

Balcony Size?  Oversized. Lots of extra space as it is the last one in the row. (See photos)

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None.

Any other comments? - Great cabin, love the oversized balcony. A great place to sit during the day and enjoy the peace of Central Park. Love that the bed is away from the balcony door leaving lots of room for access.

Ship - Symphony of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 10699

Stateroom Category – Boardwalk View Balcony (2I/1I)

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? No. This room is directly above the carousel and you can hear the music playing from it until it closes for the night. Playmakers is on the other side and if there is a game being aired, you will hear the cheers from the crowds watching. As well, even though the Aqua Theater is at the other end of the boardwalk, you can hear the music from the shows - some of which do not start until 10:30 pm. If you are the type to go to be early, be prepared to listen to the music while you drift off.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes

Balcony View - See photos. This room is at the far end of the boardwalk so there isn't much of an ocean view, although you can see it. Not a great vantage point for the Aqua shows or the movie screens.

Balcony Size? Normal. Enough room for a small round table and two chairs.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - There was often a layer of dirt on the balcony rail but it never seemed to make it to the sitting area.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Other than the noise, the room was great.

Any other comments? - See photos

Ship - Mariner of the Seas

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6272

Stateroom Category – Standard Balcony (2D)

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom?  Yes, but heard more noise (voices) than normal from guests in cabin next door but not overbearing.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Midship and Unobstructed

Balcony Size? - Normal

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Only two US style power outlets in entire cabin - both on vanity by mirror, so plan accordingly.  Also, we're used to being to be able to open the balcony divider (like on Oasis Class) as our friends had the adjoining cabin, but the balcony dividers (and I believe many on Mariner) cannot be opened as they don't latch.

Any other comments? - 6th floor on Mariner is very convenient to accessing the promenade.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - safe wasn't working properly

Ship -Anthem of the Seas

Deck -13

Stateroom # -13162

Stateroom Category –Large Balcony

Starboard or Port Side -Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –Picked this room for the location to the Solarium knowing we were under a pool deck. This room is fine if you are used to living in an apartment with people making noise above you. It sounded like elephants marching above us and there were times kids were running above us. Would not pick a top floor again.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –Excellent view from balcony.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -This is a hump balcony so it is bigger on one side than the other. I love having the extra space. This balcony faces the back of the ship so the wind is blocked which makes it a little warmer.

Was wind a problem? - no problem

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? -Beside the noise from the people walking loudly above us there was a weird noise that seemed to be coming from the walls. It was not constant, but was annoying when trying to fall asleep.

Any other comments? -Great location to get to the Solarium as you could walk down the hall so we could avoid elevators. One floor up to walk to the Windjammer.

NOT a walk in shower. It was a shower with a tub.

Ship - Anthem of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 648

Stateroom Category – 1C

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard side (backside of hump, four decks directly below the illuminated “A” in Anthem of the Seas

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – yes, except when the stateroom attendants were slamming their closet door diagonally across the corridor

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – totally unobstructed views aft and to starboard; since this this this first stateroom on the “backside” of a hump”, looking forward is only possible when leaning out over the railing

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, very deep balcony with a ton of room.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None come to mind

Any other comments? - Bed was near bathroom, couch by sliding door to balcony; despite being very near the elevator lobby, noise was never really an issue; would book this room again in a heartbeat!

Ship - Symphony of the Seas

Deck - 14

Stateroom # - 14640

Stateroom Category – Owner's Suite - 1 Bedroom

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Room was quiet at night. During the day there was constant water noise from the children's Splashaway Bay wading pool on the deck above (with spraying water features including a bucket that dumps water every few minutes). It's not terribly bad but consistent throughout the day. It stops around 8 pm and starts again around 8 am. There were occasional heavy footsteps from the pool deck above. There was the normal creaking sounds when sailing on rougher seas.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No obstructions. Clear view.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Very large and deep balcony with 2 lounge chairs (with small table) and a dining table with four chairs.

Was wind a problem? - Breezy if you stand at the balcony rail but not bad if seated.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Noise from pool deck above during the day as noted previously. I noticed some dripping stains on the balcony each day though I never saw any active dripping. Not sure where it came from.

Any other comments? - Massive amount of storage room available in drawers and cabinets with one very large and one small closet for hanging clothes. Power outlets on one side next to bed as well as on vanity and in living room. Due to the large size of room the living room TV is fairly far from the couch. Room has both inside and balcony dining table with four chairs. Good mini-fridge. Separate shower and tub. Bidet.

Ship - Navigator

Deck - 12 Forward

Stateroom # - 1874

Stateroom Category – Panoramic Oceanview

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Extreamly with one exception. Fog horn directly above cabin. In the case of heavy fog it sounds every two minutes continually.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

View - Window was larger than the balcony door. View better than balcony because no sides or floor of balcony. Looked straight down to water unobstructed.

Any other comments? - seemed much larger than standard balcony cabin. Would be great choice for cooler weather when you are not planning on sitting on balcony much.

Ship - Grandeur OTS

Deck -8

Stateroom # -565

Stateroom Category –Inside

Starboard or Port Side -Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –

Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –N/A

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

Was wind a problem? -

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? -We often book inside cabins but this is the tiniest cabin we've ever had on any cruise line,  There was also an armchair wedged in between the wardrobe door and bathroom making it impossible to properly access the very small wardrobe and hanging space.  A small round table was also in the way of the door and bottom of the bed,  We asked if these could be removed since we could not get another cabin.

Ship Anthem

Deck 7

Stateroom # 7648

Stateroom Category 2W (Studio Balcony)

Starboard or Port Side Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? Very quiet.  No vibration, no public noises.  Even the PA announcements were too muted to hear without opening a door. (Suggestion to RC - Play the PA announcements on channel 3 or 24)

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Deck 7 is above the lifeboat level.  7648 is out on the hump, so I could look straight down to the water, and even see the end of the gangways.  I could see aft just fine, but forward had maybe 1/3 of the forward view limited.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? HUGE.  This balcony is bigger than the cabin.  I had two recliners, two footrests, and a table.  There was still room to sleep several nights in my hammock without moving furniture.  There was always at least part of the balcony sheltered from the sun, so even with no sunscreen for the entire trip I had no sunburn.

Was wind a problem? No.  The balcony is so deep the wind can be easily avoided.  Even at the rail, wind was not too strong.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? not aft.

Any specific problems with this cabin? The only problem I could report to Roy, my cabin steward, was the balcony door had a rough spot in the track that made a noise.  This didn't make the door at all difficult to use, but it was the only noticable fault with the place.  Roy asked, and it was the only thing I could come up with.  He said it will be fixed when I'm back in 6 weeks.

Any other comments? For now, it is a very low traffic location.  The aft of decks 6 and 7 are used for pre-employment isolation of new crew.  The crew spends their first 2 weeks on board in their own cabins.

Ship -Anthem

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8682

Stateroom Category – ? standard balcony

Starboard or Port Side - starboard

Quiet Stateroom?  – Yes, inside the stateroom it was very quiet.  No noise from the hall or neighbors.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View -   No obstructions looking straight out or to the sides.  The smoking area on deck 5 is  below the balcony, so you see (and hear) that roof when you look down.

Balcony Size? Normal  for class-

Was wind a problem? - not unless it was a very stormy day; normal wind when sailing

Any specific problems with this cabin? -  One of the side panels on the balcony was loose and "knocked" when the ship was moving.  (I'm trying to use a word that indicates a repetitive sound less than a bang- slightly annoying but no big deal).  Also, you will hear people in the smoking area talking and laughing (only while on the balcony).

Any other comments? -  I would book this cabin again.  The bed is by the balcony.   Good storage. Mini-frig kept our wine and water perfectly chilled.

Ship - Brilliance of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9252

Stateroom Category – Obstructed Ocean View Balcony 1E

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, very quiet. Almost at the end of the hall, so little foot traffic, and there were staterooms above and below us.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – *This is an obstructed view balcony - there is permanent window-washing equipment parked on the left-hand side* I've included a number of photos below so you can see what it is like. It didn't bother us; you can see "through" it and we still had clear views looking up, down, out, and to the right.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - Sleeps 5; there is a pullout double sleeper sofa and a pulldown bed above it. We did not use them so can't comment on how they were. It's a great cabin - we got the extra square footage of a spacious cabin at the regular size obstructed view balcony price.

I realize this is not a review but would anyone or group of people like to take over preparing the compilation at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P02jhe9iw-mXyk3L9xhEJ_8lv_j4LHI6Qt0TMYy_WP8/edit?pli=1#gid=83641472?  If so please send an e-mail to PrincessCabinComp@gmail.com with your name, e-mail address, and phone number and I will contact you to discuss the details.

I think the compilation has helped many people and I would like to see it continued.   Hopefully there will be one or more persons interested and we can begin the transition in early March.

Ship - Liberty of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9708

Stateroom Category – 2 Bedroom Grand Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, quiet with  no outside noise.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, connected to another aft balcony

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The circular structure of the Freedom class ships does somewhat block the view.  It diminishes the view slightly, but we didn't find it overly bothersome.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -  Oversized, and one of the prime reasons for getting this suite.  There is small table with 4 chairs on one side and 4 loungers on the other.  Plenty of room for all activities.  Do note that the balcony is not completely covered, and the balcony above looks down on part of the balcony for this suite.

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No soot.  Under certain conditions, the smell of the ship exhaust was strong, and on some days it blew into the cabin even with the door closed.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - There were several nights were the vibrations from the engines were strong causing the fixtures to rattle and to literally shake us in the bed.  This only happened at certain speeds, and there were divers down for service at one port, so I don't know if this is normal or if there was an issue with one of the aziopods.   We had to be very careful to either fully close or open some doors, and the bathroom door in the children's room required an object to be jammed in the door to prevent it from rattling and keeping them up.  This alone makes me leery of booking another room aft.

Any other comments? -  Well sized for a couple with two children.  Good space and common areas.  If the vibrations weren't present, I would consider it ideal.
