mate this thread is ridiculously informative, thanks a lot! Looking forward to taking that little train to that beach, then staying there for a bit to get a bus back to the port. They dont mind you getting off at the beach and staying there do they?

No, that's perfectly fine. You can get off at any point (as you wish).

Hi, could you leave the train and spend time to yourself for lunch etc and then catch another train?

 

Not really but you may ask the driver if he's willing to take you back on the next Petit Train (we did the Naval Base route).

Has anyone taken this trolley tour recently?

 

Does anyone know what the weather would be like in April?

 

Yes, we did both tours and enjoyed them.

In April, the weather in France will be usually colder than in the States and often it's raining, so a sweater and a solid jacket come in handy!
