Tampa hotels and port shuttles

I am wanting to book a hotel for the night before our cruise. Which area of Tampa do I want to select to be close to the port? Downtown?

Also, how do I know which hotels offer a shuttle to the port?

Check out the Holiday Inn Express Rocky Point. I'm booked here with the cruise package.

They pick us up at the airport. Have free shuttle to take you within a couple of miles of restaurants/malls, ect. Then free shuttle to Port and will pick us up at the Port to take us back to the Airport. I Pd. $119. through their website.

Not a 4* hotel, but opted for the convenience.

WE are also book there for our cruise in sept, Its really a good price. :)
