sailbynite Posted July 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2010 I keep hearing Oceania has a new internet provider. Is this true? Is it available on all their ships currently? Has anyone experienced it first-hand? Does anyone have a rate schedule for this new service? I will be on the Regatta TA in November and do hope there has been an improvement from what I have read posted on here previously. Thanks for all your help! brew Posted July 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2010 We just got off Insignia a couple of weeks ago and it was same old - same old. However, I think Regatta has been through a dry dock and she may now have new internet. I think Insignia goes in for dry dock in November and Nautica some time after that. They may update internet then.
lorene1 Posted July 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2010 We just returned from a 14 day cruise to the Baltics and Scand. There is a new internet provider on Regatta but it is still slow and expensive. $.95/minute "a la carte" or 100 minutes for $80, with slight reductions for more bundled minutes. I found using my own laptop in our stateroom was faster than using the laptops up in the Oceania at Sea room, which I only discovered toward the end of our cruise. We tried using our IPOD Touch in port and were able to find some coffeeshops and hotspots where we could email and surf for free. That helped a LOT with the total costs. Good Luck!
