Going on Transatlantic Oct 2011, We want to stay in Rome before cruise for 3 night, anyone have info on a good located hotel, also a good airline company, we are choosing to book our own flights, thought it may be cheaper than booking with cruise line.

Why are you posting this question in the travel insurance forum? No one can advise you anything about airfare without the departure/arrival city and dates of travel. Go to the cruise air forum and ask. You are almost always better off booking air yourself.

 

Go the the ports of call forum for your Rome question, or I always just go to tripadvisor.com and you can ask in the Rome forum there, and read hotel reviews. For three nights, you may also consider renting an apartment; it may be a better value. Go to VRBO.com and do a search.

I have flown American Airlines between the USA and Rome several times. Of course, there are others to choose from.
