Langley Cruisers Posted August 23, 2010 #26 Share Posted August 23, 2010 I don't want to use original bottles, but is something like listerine bottles ok? Or do they inspect those? Are they allowed to open stuff and smell it? Are you serious? They can do whatever they want. They make the rules. And using a mouthwash bottle is just disgusting. Hey Dude....The search engine is not the best on this forum. On the contrary - the "Search this forum" function on each main page (half way, right hand side) works like a dream. It's using the search function for the entire site that gets frustrating. Actually, the search function works EXTREMELY well. Hey, we said the same thing. heehee :) I've always found the Search function works great and is very helpful.
allstarzz Posted August 23, 2010 #27 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Actually, the search function works EXTREMELY well. Put in "alcohol". Put in "booze". Put in "smuggle" or "smuggling". You will, indeed, be reading until you depart for your cruise, even if it is next summer. But the wine rack and toys are new....correct:eek: Did those items pop up in the search???????? Means of smuggling keep changing and while it might be of NO interest to some, it might peek the interest of others, mine for sure;). Anyways, I might need to refine my searching strategy because it seems I was doing it for the entire site. Thank you, live and learn!
yogimax Posted August 23, 2010 #28 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Because I'd rather pay $10 for a bottle of liquor and mix with their juice, then pay $8-10 per drink on board! So it is all about the money! Thanks for an honest answer.

Five years old, at the minimum. I put "winerack" into the search box, and got a page full of threads, dating back three and a half years. I put "beerbelly" into the search box, and got threads back to 2004.

SoCalCruzzing Posted August 24, 2010 #35 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Just back from Liberty, Rum runners worked great in both checked luggage and cargo shorts I was wearing, also had 12 pack soda in carry on- no questions asked or inspected. Also carried on 6 pack sports bottle water in plastic bag - no problems either. If you do refill water bottles like we did, for hygene resons you must pour water from a glass rather than hold bottle under the water spouts. The best place to refill was at Seattle's Best, real easy to keep filling glass with water and then pour into the bottles whilst holding over a tray to catch any spills. Bringing water or juice(kerns nectar) on from the ports of call seemed fine, security never questioned it once.
satxdiver Posted August 24, 2010 #36 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Thanks for the report SoCal. I ran into the issue of only filling my sport bottle from a glass and not from the tap. I infuriated some staff in the buffet because I took several glasses of water and poured it into my sport bottle at a nearby table. I suppose I am not suppose to fill it at all. So far my success rate is 100% in bringing on my own libations. So I am way ahead of the game. Toast1412 Posted August 24, 2010 #37 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Hey, I'm sure this has been asked by many people, but I'm still wondering.... We're going on a RCI Enchantment of the Seas cruise coming up and we are undecided if we should try to sneak alcohol on? Can we just bring the alcohol bottles? Should we put the alcohol in other types of bottles? Whats the best way? And what happens if they figure out we have alcohol? Does anyone know RCIs search procedure out of Baltimore? Thanks!!! Don't waste your time. If they find anything they won't deliver you bags to your room. At that point you need to go down and pick them up. After all that running around you could have been on your 4th cocktail. And if you do get it on, then what? Run back to your room everytime you want a re-fill? And them of course you need to hide it in the room too. You're on vacation, live a little.
tyler6597 Posted August 24, 2010 #38 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Buy rum runners. I've used them on 6 cruises and never been caught. Just type rum runners into a web search and there your go. Carnival does allow 1 bottle of wine or champagne as a carry on. :D

No need to hide booze in your room, the room attendant does not care, we left Rum Runners in the cabinets either side of the mirror doors. Reason to take own booze - loved the fact we could have cocktails on the balcony when we wanted without the need to run up to a bar to buy first. If we wanted to take a drink with us we always placed them in the large "Labadee Lazula " drink cups, no problems taking them to shows, dinning room, bars, casino, pool etc. We also did purchase beers and some cocktails from the bars when we felt like a change of drink base, so RCL was still making money. Sounds like a pain in the butt. What if you're by the pool? For the room, having them stock up the mini bar is an easy fix. Beside's you're dropping $20 bucks for some plastic flasks? catlady27 Posted August 24, 2010 #41 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Yes, this question has been asked a billion times already. Why don't you use the search feature? Too Lazy to type in a few words? If you're smart enough to register on the Cruise Critic Board, you should be smart enough to use the "Search Feature". You can also go the RCCL website to find such simple answers to common questions. This thread contributes to worthless spam and utilizes server resources that could otherwise be used for original topics. What he said ;)
