JohnStevenGordon Posted August 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2010 Plus Tax !!!!!!!!!! 200% mark up plus tax - nice profit
happymommy Posted August 25, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2010 What size are these for? I mean, we pay about $33 or so for 750mL of Grey Goose vodka here, so if it's for a liter, I'd say that isn't really too bad?

LynneL Posted August 25, 2010 #11 Share Posted August 25, 2010 Plus Tax !!!!!!!!!! 200% mark up plus tax - nice profit Yeah, but unless you are trying to smuggle on a bottle you bought at the low ship gift shop price from the previous cruise then it isn't that large a markup. Plus, if bought in your hometown liquor store you have to pay tax also. I know what you're saying about Carnival making the profit but cheaper than buying the drinks at the bar. Yes, depending upon where you are from it is a high markup but if you do "double shot" drinks you are getting 17 drinks. Comes out A LOT cheaper than at the bars on the ship. LorrieB Posted August 25, 2010 #13 Share Posted August 25, 2010 What size is the Absolute Citron bottle? We are definitely going to be ordering that. I will drink screwdrivers and my husband loves Bloody Mary's. We will just bring on the Bloody Mary mix. Won't have any problems getting that on the ship. It's a shame Carnival doesn't allow a substitute of one bottle of liquor in place of the wine they allow. We always bring on two bottles of wine and we always end up taking home two bottles of wine. We bring it with the intention of drinking it and then never do.

I like Absolute Citron with Crystal light or with a little fruit punch (the little to go packets) mixed with some of the ship's lemonade, or even with some cranberry juice & a tad of lemonade. Yummmo.
