Mr&MrsBee Posted August 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2010 Does anyone know if the Summit and Infinity will undergo the changes that the Connie and Mille have undergone? eg. bistro 5.
CruisingChick Posted August 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2010 Hi Larry and Karen, So far only Constellation has been Soltiscized. Celebrity announced they are doing one ship per year. I believe this is the schedule: Constellation - April 2010 Infinity - fall 2011 Summit - sometime in 2012 Millennium - sometime in 2013 Sorry I can't be more specific. Maybe someone else who is more "in the know" can answer.

emileg Posted August 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2010 Since we are doing both the Summit and Infinity before "Solstization," I think it would be interesting to sail on both following metamorphosis. We were on the Caribbean Princess following its "Crowning" and found that the changes were just to the Atrium, the casino and a specialty restaurant. It was very nice, but certainly wasn't a game changer in terms of choosing a ship. On the other hand, I saw on TV a 4 hour documentary on what might have been the Sovereign of the Seas or one of its sisters, and the changes were much more extensive. Nevertheless, we were on the Sovereign in its first season and it was gorgeous just the way it was.

What was the name of this show and what channel so I can be on the lookout?
yj_eugene Posted August 27, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2010 I LOVE watching cruise shows! What was the name of this show and what channel so I can be on the lookout? It was called "Drydock: A Cruise Ship Reborn", and I think it originally ran on The Learning Channel (TLC). When or where a rerun will occur is anyone's guess, so I'd say just keep looking out for it on any of the similar-type channels.

There is a whole thread devoted to this documentary about the Drydock of the Sovereign of the Seas. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1151730 Also, try Googling the title that yj_eugene kindly provided us. Drydock: A Cruise Ship Reborn I have not been able to locate a copy of the show.
