Clothes Steaming??

Recommended Posts

I have heard recently that Carnival Cruise Line has stopped passengers from bringing on steamers for clothing... any validity to this? and if so has anyone heard that it will affect RCL as well???:p

I know that royal carib. does not permit steamers or irons in passenger rooms. you are required to use their service.

They aren't on the prohibited list, but ChipsLondon posted that they were confiscating steamers on Oasis a couple of weeks ago. Someone else posted on the same thread that they were taking steamers from luggage but allowing passengers to buy steamers on Oasis. I guess you can't bring your own but you can buy one from RC? Not sure what would happen if you try to bring one onboard that you purchased from RC on a previous cruise.

Ya know some steamers actually look like irons and I wonder if that is what is getting removed from luggage!:(

I bought the steamer last year after going to the 'naughty room' because I had an iron in my luggage.

They see it with the xray. When I got there, the luggage strap was still around my bag. You are asked to open it because they do not want to be accused if something else is missing.

It was a small travel iron. If they had been wrong & it was something else, they would have just let it go. They delivered it to my room on the last night.

That was a year ago. I do not think they do that any more.

When we just got off the Mariner the other day, there was a table full of irons where you collect your luggage at the port.
