jdfloyd Posted February 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2005 Do you fly into Ft. Lauderdale? How far from airport to pier? Hotel recommendations? Also how long after cruise can you stay on the ship (when MUST you be off?)
cruisencouple Posted February 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2005 I am cruising in April on the CP and we are flying into Ft. Lauderdale I hear it is only about a 5 to 10 minute cab ride to Port Everglades. I would assume since the CP is going out again after our cruise that we would not be able to be on the boat long. I think they start boarding around noon. I am still looking for a hotel but when I book one i'll let you know.
Crazsea Posted February 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2005 Yes, Ft.Lauderdale airport. Airport is 10-15 minutes from pier. Try Priceline for a 3* Ft.Lauderdale Beach or Downtown Ft.Lauderdale or Ft.Lauderdale airport. Barring any arrival, passenger or immigration delays, final call for disembarkation will be around 10:30AM. I can give you more detailed Hotel information if you want to email me. I hope you enjoy your cruise! Jonathan:) PS, Joe & Dianna, I see you were on the last voyage of the NORWAY! That must have been a sad day. We were on her three weeks before you. LeeW Posted February 20, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Pretty decent map of the port is at http://www.portevergladesguide.com/34.html Princess seems to use berth 2 at Northport for most sailings if there is only one ship in port. Airport is just off the map south of I-595. Entrance is on the east side, so can't be more than 5 miles. The Port Authority lists berths a couple of days in advance, so you can see where your ship will probably be: http://www.broward.org/hmreport.htm
Rare ghgeckos Posted February 20, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2005 I read many good things about the Embassy Suites on 17th street . I'm here right now. The hotel is fine but be sure you don't get a room facing the street. The bar across the street has a live band that I can here in my room.:-( Very noisy with all the street noise.
