St. John - Irving Nature Park

I thought it would be interesting to get up early and go to Irving Nature Park just outside of St. John. Is it far? Is it worth going? What would be the best way to get there? Bus? Taxi? Rent a car? I have looked for information but can't really find anything. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

It is a normally a 12 minute taxi ride from where ship docks; however, there is construction on the harbour bridge until the end of October - which means it MAY take up to an extra half hour each direction on weekdays. Cabs are a set zonal fare - no meters. Buses do not go to the park. Do not rent a car unless you are going to St. Martins. It is unspoiled wilderness with a hiking path skirting the shoreline with high up vistas - takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to complete. Thanks for the info. We will be in St. John on your Thanksgiving. I thought it would be someplace nature-like and near the water that is outside of the city and not too far away.
