Pikkewyn Posted September 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Hi Everyone I know there have been links before on Cruise Critic but can anyone direct me (again) to Britannia Restaurant's latest wine lists and Commodore Club Cocktail Menus? I have tried Cunard's website but the info doesn't seem to be on the website. Thanks Phil :)

pb82 Posted September 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2010 Hi Everyone I know there have been links before on Cruise Critic but can anyone direct me (again) to Britannia Restaurant's latest wine lists and Commodore Club Cocktail Menus? I have tried Cunard's website but the info doesn't seem to be on the website. Thanks Phil :) You will find them in the "Wines Drinks Cigars" album of the "2010 QM2 September" album of my photobucket. Look at the QM2 Sept 3-12 Programmes, Menus, Prices, etc. thread for directions.
Rare carlmm Posted September 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2010 You will find them in the "Wines Drinks Cigars" album of the "2010 QM2 September" album of my photobucket. Look at the QM2 Sept 3-12 Programmes, Menus, Prices, etc. thread for directions. Thank you very much for posting! It is good that Cunard maintains a broader selection of wines than some other lines. Nevertheless in part it is sad to read the current wine list. In the past I laudated Cunard for a reasonable price policy by charging a moderate surcharge on retail prices. Yet one had to realize over recent years that they departed from this policy. To verify my first bad impression I compared the current list with an old one from the Queen Elizabeth 2, maybe four or five years old. The price increase is enormous, e.g. Chablis Premier Cru "Les Fourchaumes", then $38, now $85 => 124% increase Pouilly-Fuisse AC, Louis Jadot, then $32, now $54 => 69% increase Albariño, Pazo de Barrantes, then $28, now $48 => 71% increase Château Beau-Site, then $36, now $66 => 83% increase Château Giscours, then $55, now $168 => 205% increase !!!! .... And in the bars a small glass of simple Chablis costs $9.95 ? Not one decent European wine in the $5 area?

x-press Posted September 27, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2010 For two years now, I've enjoyed listening to all the old-school dress code rules/arguments on here, waiting for my opening: I see a Manhattan on that menu. I see no rye whiskeys. That suggests they are making them with bourbon. Where is the outrage from the traditionalists?! ;) Winston Churchill's mother would be appalled.
