Meekofigaro Posted October 13, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted October 13, 2010 The good news is that as of the latest forecast run (11 pm EST 10/12/10) this storm is forecasted to be a depression over central cuba on Saturday. Other than clouds and a bit of rain, both the Sun and Epic should not experience any problems heading out to the western carribean.

I've been watching the forecasts and the hurricane tracking models very closely for the last 24 hours. The changes are both frequent and nerve wracking. Here's hoping for the best! david_sobe Posted October 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2010 funny how nobody seems concerned about this?? it will be in the florida - cuba region through the weekend. could be trouble. No, not true It will go over cuba and turn into a tropical depression but no plans for Florida (yet). In any event, a tropical depression in Cuba is no reason to cancel cruises to Mexico or western carribean ;)
laxlove6 Posted October 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2010 How do you know that it will not turn northwest towards Florida. There are many different projected paths. It could even go in between Florida and Cuba. I wouldn't be so sure about the projected path. Even with a tropical depression in the area, the ocean could be extremely rough. Gatorj Posted October 13, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 13, 2010 Don't forget that the Pearl is in the Western Carib this week, and essentially has to follow the storm home to Miami. Any storm deviations could impact the Pearl's arrival in Miami on Sunday morning. Which would stink for me since I'm supposed to board that day! Big cold front coming down from the north is keeping it south of FL. No worries for FL with this one.
