Springwater21 Posted October 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2010 On the NCL booking site, in small print, they state they can charge a fuel surcharge if crude oil goes above 65.00 a barrel..its been above that for quite awhile. Does anyone know if they have been charging the surcharge and what the charge amounts to? Just curious!!

They just have to make customers aware of the policy. Nita

Does anyone know if they have been charging the surcharge and what the charge amounts to? Just curious!! I was wondering this myself today... saw a little more info about how they 'could' do this, but I don't think they will.. For Q4 sailings, the Sept 17th West Texas Intermediate price is what they go by... and though it was above the $65 level ($73.16), its nowhere near the price spike that triggered the earlier fuel charges and touched up to the $140's in July of '08 before falling like a rock shortly thereafter. Don Haynes Posted November 11, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2010 Not presently. However, if the price of fuel spikes considerably suddenly, the fuel surcharge will reappear... The cruise lines are leaving that option open as they don't wish to swallow future spikes in fuel prices...
