flights out of San Diego

Just be aware that at times San Diego does have foggy mornings.

We were to get the Ryndam one time out of San Diego. The fog was very bad that morning. We stood out on our vernadah and listened to the fog horn of the ship as she approached the pier. Then suddenly we saw her cut through the fog - time was 10 AM.

We left the hotel at noon but were turned away at the pier as they were still unloading passengers from the ship.

The airport at San Diego is very close to the pier. In SD and FLL I always try for a 1PM flight time. That leaves some give in the time line. Sometimes the ships get in late, for varous reasons. Once on the Zaandam, offloading did not start until 10 AM - and no reason was given. I hate missing a flight.

dakrewser, are taxis pretty easy to find after you get off the ship? Thanks

As Pincus says, there's a line of them waiting as you get off the ship and even if they're all gone it's only 20 yards or so to the street where dozens go by every couple of minutes.
