edselone Posted October 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2010 has anyone done any of the Los Angeles excurison upon returning from the cruise? we have a 5 to 6 hour gap in disembarking and our flight. wondering if it is worth the $50-$60 bucks just so you don't have to sit at LAX. STARFISH*4 Posted October 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2010 we have done them all that are offered in LA and dont hesitate to book this after our cruise...we will be doing it again when we are there in February, just a way to extend the cruise vacation out and not having to worry about getting to the airport on time! I can assure you, whatever your choices it is better than spending time sitting in LAX. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but don't know what NCL is offering. I am sure the tours are pretty good. carol louise Posted November 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2010 If they offer an excursion to the Getty Center, I highly recommend it (http://www.getty.edu/). Even if you didn't look at any of the art on exhibit, it would be worth the visit as a spectacular site with innovative architecture, gardens, fountains, and views to the sea and the mountains. winterfleer Posted November 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2010 We did the LA bus tour when we got off the Star a couple years ago. We thought it was worth it. It was our first time in LA, so we knew virtually nothing about the area. Things I remember visiting: Hollywood (and the footprints), Kodak Theater, Beverly Hills, the Hollywood sign, Farmers Market, the oil wells (interesting that they were right in the middle of the city). For us it was a good way to get back to the airport for a 6pm flight. Have a great cruise!
