Rare TPKeller Posted November 16, 2010 #401 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Hi Radio I am trying to see the photos of the but a password is required (http://public.fotki.com/radio88/enchantment-of-the--1/). Can I see them? That usually means he is still working on the albums. I'm sure he'll post a note when they are ready. Theron
beachbuddy Posted November 16, 2010 #402 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Hi Radio I am trying to see the photos of the but a password is required (http://public.fotki.com/radio88/enchantment-of-the--1/). Can I see them? We are a couple (49/41) with two children (22/20). We are trying to decide if book in Celebrity Mercury from Baltimore on 20th december (14 days) or Enchantment of the Seas on 27th december 2010 from Baltimore (12 days). Could you help me? - I am concern with the age of the MERCURY. Is it an issue...Does she look old? - The cabins of Enchantment of the seas looks nicer. Am I right? - The cabins of Mercury (172) are bigger than EOS (154). Is it an issue? - What about the entertainment?. Is Mercury a boring ship? - What about the food?..12/14 days at sea are too much for a boring food - I pretend to book a Oceanview for my wife and I and a Inside cabin for my children...Is there any chance to be upgraded? So a lot of questions..the main question for me is if MERCURY looks aged, deteriorated..If you were me..what will be your choice without any doubt? Thank you for your time!!! Have you looked into the Explorer out of Bayonne? I think your kids would like that ship. You should check it out.

BoyntonBeth Posted November 16, 2010 #404 Share Posted November 16, 2010 did the MDR have a designated area for Diamond' date=' for Breakfast? if yes, do you have any idea of what was offered? [/quote'] EN is my favorite ship. I've been on EN 3x since they started the D/D+ breakfast a year ago. In all 3 cases, EN held the breakfast in a side area of the upper level of the main dining room, which was previously not used for breakfast. The menu is the same as the rest of the dining room, except that the non-alcoholic specialty coffees are free. On EN the service is better at the D/D+ breakfast, since they typically use Chops waitstaff to serve. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your time!!! we were on the Mercury, 12/09 - MERCURY is older; albeit, the bedding was comfortable, the ship well maintained and Clean. No bed bugs! no Noro! The MDR was typical cruise-fare. IMHO, the cruise-experience was very ok - no complaints. We had a D1. Good cruise holiday, for price paid. videojoe Posted November 17, 2010 #406 Share Posted November 17, 2010 My 2 cents on the earlier poster's question... My 17 year old son and I went through the decision process last year between the Christmas/New Years sailings of the Mercury (Baltimore) vs the Explorer (NJ). Even though we live 30 mins from Baltimore, we ended up going with the Explorer out of NJ and had an awesome time! The Explorer will have alot more "younger" things for your two 20+ year olds to do (ice skating, rock climbing, etc...). Explorer being twice the size, will also have at least twice the number of people your kids age - making it more likely they will find others with similar interests (especially on those 3 days at sea)... :) If you can't (like me) leave until after XMas day, the Enchantment might be a good compromise. They are also running considerably cheaper for some reason than the Explorer or Mercury.

Philly Steve Posted November 17, 2010 #408 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Radio, thanks for adding the pics of the stretch. Excellent views of that project. MaggieKate Posted November 18, 2010 #410 Share Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks for the great thread, Radio. We've sailed on Enchantment twice and are planning on sailing her again in April. Baltimore is an easy drive for us from NJ and the airfare to Florida has gotten out of control over holiday weeks, so we're going to give Baltimore a try. Can't wait to get on her again. if you're going april 23, see you there! wheeee!

PSCruiser Posted November 21, 2010 #412 Share Posted November 21, 2010 Radio - I noticed that your posted Cruise Compasses do not contain the Showtime information. Was this the case, or are you getting special "unpublished" versions to post? I'll really miss it if they no longer include that info - always a highlight of looking at the new Cruise Compass after dinner.

Was there any ports that getting off the boat and to excursion points required a long walk and no trolly/golf carts available? Any one mention whales? See whales? Sorry Jack, No Whales were seen during my trip. I was told that the Whales often visit Samana Bay from January through March. That when they come to warmer waters to mate. . . Here is "my" version on how to post images in Cruise Critic. . . 1. All photos are first posted to my Photo Page. (Fotki, Photobucket, etc) 2. I then begin a CC Post, and click on -POST REPLY- 3. I click on the Icon at the top of the Dialog Box that is titled -INSERT IMAGE- 4. I open a photo from my Photo Page, and click on Properties... 5. I copy the properties from the photo and paste them into the box that appears when you select -Insert Image- 6. I then click on -Submit Reply- You can try it out with the TEST FORUM HERE Radio ;);) . We weren't so happy with our first cruise....the food was horrible! BBTT Posted November 22, 2010 #418 Share Posted November 22, 2010 Radio: So glad to know all is well. Heres to making LOTS of cash so you can continue to cruise and of course keep us updated with your wonderfull daily posts. I've been on CC for about 5 years now and mostly just surf and learn from others experiences. I came down with the "addiction" about 7 cruises ago and can never get enough. I must say however that YOUR live posts are the best I've ever read and will always look forward to them-they are so much like "being there in person"--well done--thank you !!!! dixieva Posted November 25, 2010 #422 Share Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks for your "live posts" radio! A question please-you posted a picture of the side of the ship with tenders going to Samana or Cayo Laventado. So if we did the ship excursion to Cayo L.would we be on a regular ship tender boat and not a smaller boat? We want to do this but will have my 80 year old sister with us and need to be sure she will be able to make it onto the tender. A couple of years ago friends did this excursion and said it was a smaller boat and they had to sort of jump down into it since it wasn't tall enough for the platform. My sis wouldn't be able to do that. Thanks for the help!

Rare MillbrookMom Posted December 22, 2010 #425 Share Posted December 22, 2010 We have been looking for a family cruise for March and I found a fantastic deal on the 9 night Bahamas Itinerary. Just wondering how much there is for teens to do...we have 2 boys that will be 13 and 15 at time of sailing. The only other cruise we've done was NCL Dawn to the Bermuda in May of 2009 and it's not a bells and whistles ship either and they were kept busy. I just wondering with a few extra days will the Enchantment have enough.
