Newbie tipping question (again)

Want to make sure we do the right thing. I understand that Princess charges an amount per guest for gratuity that is added to your final bill. If you have chosen PC dining for example and have different waiters every night and you feel they deserve additional tipping, should you do it immediately after that meal (and is it done in cash) or wait until the end of the trip somehow? Also, what about room service, do you tip them in cash or add to the ticket at the time the service is made? Thanks for all the great info so far-everyone here really is helpful!

We tip room service in cash when they deliver our order. I would assume that you could tip in cash wait staff in PC after a meal if you thought that was deserved. We used PC dining but requested same table each night after 2nd night. We tipped this wait staff and maitre de(sp?)extra in cash on last night of the cruise.

I'm not sure how you would add these tips to your bill. Maybe someone else will have that answer.

Wait till the end of the cruise to tip PC dining room staff, only if you feel they really deserve it, they get a cut of the daily charge. Room service is tipped when they deliver (cash, couple of bucks), there is no charge for what they are delivering. I give an extra tip to the waiters and waitresses in the casino and never have to search for a drink. Also if you are playing the tables in the casino and get a winning hand it is customary to tip the dealer.

I can't say what is the right way to do this is, but I would do what makes you most comfortable. I think tipping the waitstaff on the last night in PC dining is just way too much of a hassle. First you'd have to make a note of what tables you had each night, and then go to all these different tables and find these wonderful waiters and waitresses. Just my opinion but I'd do it the night of each dinner if you wanted to tip extra.
