Bringing Wine Onboard

I plan on bringing 2 bottles of wine on our cruise next month. We plan on drinking it in our stateroom however if we bring a corkscrew is that going to be confiscated? If yes, does that mean we can only buy wine with the screw top to avoid the corkage fee in the Dining Room or is there another way to uncork the wine without paying?

Thanks

It will not be confiscated if you pack it (the corkscrew that is) in your checked luggage. The wine must be in your carry-on luggage. If you forget one your room steward will get one for you to use.

We always bring a corkscrew without problem, we just pack it in our checked luggage. It is not a prohibited item, unless it has a blade longer than 4 inches. We also occasionally carry a glass of our own wine into the dining room too without any hassle. ;) Cheers!

We will generally ask our room stewards for wine glasses and will bring a large glass of wine with us to dinner most nights.

As a matter of fact the waiters generally will not even charge you the corkage fee if you keep your bottle in the DR.

My girlfriend brought 3 bottles of wine with us on our Nov 13th Liberty cruise. The security woman told her she was only allowed 2 bottles, but allowed her to bring the third one. Since they don't work for Carnival, they tend to be more lenient. I don't drink wine, so she had it all to herself.

Limit to the wine is one 750 ml bottle per person over 21. Corkage fee may be charged only if you take the bottle to the dining room whether it is previously uncorked or twist off top, in your stateroom use is no fee. Room steward will provide wine glasses and corkscrew at your request. If you take your own corkscrew it will not be confiscated. Pack your wine in your carryon, any brought on by packing in your checked luggage may be confiscated but generally returned on the last evening of the cruise.

for just two bottles, if you're flexible, why not bring screw cap wine? A lot of the better wines come with that now. It's also nicer if you don't finish it.

Of course there is still a corkage fee for the dining room whether it has a cork or not.
