cruiseREF Posted December 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Hi everyone! We are having our wedding on board Allure of the Seas on May 8 2011. Are there anyone out there having any comments regarding a wedding on board either Allure or Oasis? Reception area: If not the Pinnacle Lounge, what? and why? Menu? Any input will be highly appreciated! Ciao! :)
gram2kids Posted December 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Philip, Congratulation's on your up-coming wedding in May on the Allure of the Seas..! How exciting that has to be for you and your bride-to-be. I will be sailing on the Allure on 13 days and will let you know if I encounter any couples that have married onboard and what their thoughts are on the experience. I wish I could be more helpful to you but I'm sure others reading this post will be happy to give their own thoughts regarding your wedding on Allure. Best Wishes for a long and happy, healthy married. :)

It is our understanding that the default reception venue on board is the Pinnacle Lounge (as it's primarily there for wedding receptions). Royal Romance informed us that "additional requests" (like different venues) are made with the ship 2 weeks prior, and not guaranteed. We were just curious whether there are others on Cruise Critic that went through the same kind of decisions before. Your input from your upcoming cruise will be appreciated thanks! Any other critics on here that can share topics like; Is it even worth trying to hold our reception in Dazzles? The view from the Pinnacle Chapel and Lounge are pretty nice... What menu options / alcohol / cake etc did people have at your Royal wedding / guest experience, and what is recommended? Thank you for the interest! :)

strongclaws Posted December 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Hey Phillip me and my wife stayed in a loft suite so we walked past the Chapel every day. It's very nice. My buddy is getting married in Mexico, and the only thing we kept saying was, "They need to get married here, on Allure!" It is going to be awesome. Congrats and trust me I wish my friend would get hitched on Allure.
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted December 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Sailed on Allure's Labadee Extravaganza. The chapel is lovely and quite large compared to the chapels on Freedom Class and Voyager Class ships. It is also easier to reach than on those other ships because you don't have to climb stairs. The rear of the chapel features floor to ceiling glass windows. The Pinnacle Lounge is a very elegant spot just across from the chapel. It too has floor to ceiling windows with a stunning view. There are comfortable sofas. I think RCI has designed a wonderful place for a ship board wedding and reception. I don't know how many guests you are planning on having, but I'd estimate you could easily accommodate fifty in these facilities. Best wishes to you on your upcoming wedding. Have a great cruise too. leeanninfla Posted December 14, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I personally would not move to Dazzles. The view is not as great, unless you want to be over looking the boardwalk.

Everything about Allure seems to be falling right into place. 146 Days... :) Sailed on Allure's Labadee Extravaganza. Thanks! That's great, the entrance / hallway between the elevators and the chapel does look great and better thought through. I'm glad the chapel is larger, we saw the chapel on Freedom and based our decision to get married on board the next newest Royal vessel on that... We will probably be around 40 guests... I counted the seats in some Allure photos and it seems to be able to accommodate 50 guests. I personally would not move to Dazzles. The view is not as great, unless you want to be over looking the boardwalk. Thank you for affirming my thoughts! :)
Sayuri50 Posted December 15, 2010 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) Hi everyone! We are having our wedding on board Allure of the Seas on May 8 2011. Are there anyone out there having any comments regarding a wedding on board either Allure or Oasis? Reception area: If not the Pinnacle Lounge, what? and why? Menu? Any input will be highly appreciated! Ciao! :) Phillip, In answer to your question, I think it depends on what you & your bride want....My new hubby & I got married on the MV of Allure, but we chose to have a private ceremony on the deck of our Aqua Theatre Suite. Perfect, quiet, romantic and no extra charges. It's up to you...we looked at the chapel, elegant and very non-denominational. Quite frankly, I think it more of a nice banquet room, leather chairs, nice art, floor to ceiling glass windows, but nothing special. I can't address food, during, after, or before. So, there's my take on it. Our "reception" was to go to 150 Central Park for the tasting dinner experince instead. Nice. Cheers & good luck! A toast ahead of time just given to us after the ceremony..."May the next 20 years be everybit as wonderful as the last 20 minutes!" CaptainD Posted February 5, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 5, 2011 We're getting married onboard the Allure on 5/1. Of course, this means I won't be able to get back to you with any comments/thoughts regarding our experience in time for your ceremony. But, we have chosen the Dazzles because of pics provided to us by our wedding coordinator. The pics she provided of the chapel were bland/ordinary. We're expecting six sailing guests (maybe 4 more soon) and 10 non-sailing guests (we limited it to 10 because we didn't want to pay for a reception, after all, the 7-day cruise IS the reception!). We have decided on the Pinnacle Chapel for the ceremony and then the Pinnacle Lounge afterwords for the reception. There will be around 45 guests, which makes it a perfect fit. The elegant setting with the incredible views made us decide easier. Counting down the days! :)
CaptData Posted February 6, 2011 #20 Share Posted February 6, 2011 My Daughter got married on Freedom of the Seas (at the time world's largest cruise ship). Be perpared to run around the ship after the the photographer. He/she will take shots all over the ship then show you all the photos they took and you can pick and choose from there. They have packages but you can purchase before you go contact the rep.

Thank you so much! Hi Aavvento, We had a great wedding onboard Allure. She truly is a beautiful ship. Our wedding was on the day om embarkation, thus everything was quite a rush. Having the ceremony a few days into the sailing should allow for a more relaxed experience. Can't believe it's already been almost a year ago... If there is anything in particular you're interested to find out, feel free to ask. :)
cruisinmom1 Posted March 30, 2015 #23 Share Posted March 30, 2015 Please see my post!! Buyer beware- they can rip you off and then say "I"m Sorry!!"the fastest way to blow 10K- the casino would probably take longer and maybe a better return of money! RCCL learn from Carnival!! I had a friend get married on Carnival and RCCL should be ashamed of themselves!!
