OT: Sort of - Ballys Vegas

Recieved an interesting brochure from Bally's. 2 comped nights at Paris or 3 at Ballys across the street. We have not been to Vegas in six year or so, it was quite surprising. Plus we've never stayed there. We've never gambled enough to get comped for anything. Included were things such as $50 match play or $25 free slots, lots of two for ones.

Guessing that this is because of the MGM/Mirage takeover of Mandalay. But also to try to take a bite out of cruise lines since its sort of hard to cruise out of Las Vegas :).

Just thought I would throw my 2 cents worth in: both are nice, of course Paris is awesome, one of my favorites but the rooms at Bally's are larger. The Bally's pool (don't know when you plan on going) is huge, but not anything to write home about if looks are important to you. Paris has a small pool and they are not across the street from one another, but rather next door. You can stroll through a delightful passageway I refer as a tunnel with great shops, restaurants, and a brick walkway. You will almost escape to France for a few minutes. Whichever you choose make certain you try the little French restaurant located in the passageway on the left hand side if you are walking from Bally's to Paris. Now how did we get from cruising to Las Vegas? NMNita LOL

I keep looking for a deal for dh and I to go on a long weekend, and the prices are sky high! I love Vegas.

Have fun!

I love Vegas too; for me, if I could only have 1 vacation per year it would be hard to choose between Vegas, Laughlin and a cruise. I guess one could cruise out of LA for 4 days, drive from LA to Vegas for 2 days and then down to Laughlin for 1. I just covered the entire vacation sites and did it in 7 days. LOL

Lucky!

We're doing both Vegas and a cruise for our vacation in less than 2 weeks... we're flying to Vegas next Sunday and getting married there on Tuesday, then flying to Ft Lauderdale Thursday to catch the Summit on Friday.

Lots of flying, but I imagine the wedding and honeymoon will be worth it!

If you have any coupons you won't use we'd be happy to take them off your hands ;)

now that I had my laugh, Hilton (Caesars Entertaiment, formerly park Place, formely Hilton Gaming) has Ballys & Paris its attached baby sister up for sale. Funny that Alddin went to Starwood tho they are putting off moving in til 2006 & Even San Remo went to Hooters. But no one interested in the former burnt out MGM Grand with the big fire that killed plenty. Now sprinklers are mandatory after that one. I could never stay at Ballys knowing that.

MGM doesn't have any interest in cruise lines either. Anyone want a Detroit casino as they have to sell one that was Mandalays, formerly Circus Circus and even that casino is for sale too).

Email me to get my Las Angeles Times Sunday ads for room deals in Las Vegas, as I have written gossip & promos for many casinos there for the past 25 years........ My BD is the grand opening of the old Desert Inn which my galfriend & family blue up & Wynn Las Vegas $2 bil hotel/ casino/car dealership goes in with another Cirque du Soleil.

Now at the rate LA is falling into the sea with rain, fires, winds, etc - LV may be ocean view pretty soon ;-)
