jrljel Posted December 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2010 Just one...I was on the Inaugural. You will love her! Some things I liked better on Oasis, but hey... Two questions. Tell me if the slots are paying off. I have NEVER had a WORSE experience in the casino than I did on that inaugural sailing. Lost a BOATLOAD of money. Never did that before, never will again. The slots never seemed to pay off unless you were betting over $10 a spin. No way! Second, what do they do differently on a Christmas sailing than on a regular one. I know that ours was just over the top in my opinion because of all the special things we got. So why should I ever book Christmas? It's two to three times the amount I'd spend during the summer or at Thanksgiving and I just don't get it. Spending the week in FL instead on land (boo). I would love to take a Christmas cruise IF there is some benefit. Let me know!

We always get on on the 26th so I'm not sure what they do differently but on the New Years cruise other than giving out free champagne at mid night and having parties through out the ship, I don't think they do much differently. My guess is that there are those that like the experience or can only go at that time and are willing to pay. My mom really likes being on the ship for New Year's, she has always been pretty frugal but is willing to pay the extra cash for the New Year's cruise. sgb120 Posted December 29, 2010 #12 Share Posted December 29, 2010 We were on Allure for Christmas and it was wonderful. I would do this every year if I was able to. We had 3 children 4-6-8 and they picked this over going to Disney. Christmas Eve was a formal night and a special dinner. Santa arrived at 8:45 Am Christmas day in the Promenade and then every child from 6 months to 17 years got a ticket to go into Studio B for a gift from Santa. They were serving eggnog if you wished. Elves and Pajama people entertained you while you waited in line. They had balloon charachters, ringtoss, hoola hoops to play with and face painting. Each child got a wrapped RC blanket. It was very nice. They had midnight mass in the Amber Theater for all religions to celebrate. They played Christmas Carols and had live singing in the Promenade at different times even a time for children. There was a two story tree decorated near Sorrentos which was a good picture taking site.
