LynnMW3 Posted December 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2010 From the X website: Luggage Valet Luggage Valet is a service we offer to help make your return travels as carefree as your cruise. The last evening onboard, you can receive your airline boarding passes, luggage tags and baggage claim checks. The next morning, simply place your checked bags outside your door. We’ll take care of the rest. From our ship, to the airport, to your home – your luggage will be taken care of. And you won’t wait in line at the airport for your boarding passes, because you’ll already have them. Has anyone used this service? If so, how much does it cost, and what are the limitations/requirements? Does it matter how early your flight is? We are debarking in FLL, and flying Southwest (with an 11:05 AM flight), both of which are listed as participating in the program... If anyone has used this service, it would be very helpful to hear of your experience. Thanks in advance, Lynn
firemanbobswife Posted December 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2010 We asked about it on our 12/11/10 Eclipse cruise. Guest Relations said they don't have it set up yet for that ship, so didn't get to use it.

I believe it was $20 per person plus the regular airline baggage rates. We did put our luggage out as usual but we had to retrieve it and take it through customs in San Juan then we never saw it again until we arrived at our final destination. Hope they offer it this time on Connie.....
Lsimon Posted December 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2010 Cost is $20/pp plus any airline luggage fees. If you are exempt from your airline's luggage fees for any reason, such as higher level frequent flyer status, make sure you discuss this with guest relations when you turn the form in. Fights do have to be after a certain time but I don't recall what that is. It is also limited to flights on participating airlines and I believe your final destination must in in the USA. We've signed up for this about 5 times over the years and had issues twice. Once we were rejected by the airline/tsa and the reason given was that they routinely disallow a random percentage from the process and instead require airport check-in. The second time we had flight upgrade requests pending and for some reason one of us was put right through with the upgrade and the other had the upgrade but was marked as requiring airport check-in. When it has worked it has been real nice. We usually have only bothered when we have a late flight and want to spend some time around the port city instead of heading straight to the airport to check our luggage. At the ports we've done this at we've been put on an relatively early disembarkation group and have had to claim our luggage in the terminal, take it through customs and then drop it off at a special counter or area just past customs. After that you're all set with boarding pass and luggage claim tags and can head right to security lines and the gate when you get to the airport.
