NotTheBatesMotel Posted December 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2010 I'm an obsessive planner when it comes to vacations. I think it's half of the fun of traveling. My second cruise (Husband's 3rd) is 39 days away now (!!!) and I'm trying to make sure I have set aside money for absolutely everything. What am I forgetting aside from fun money (I define fun money as trinkets/casino/alcohol/etc.) Cruise fare Gas roundtrip (woo hoo road trip ;) ) Hotel pre-cruise Parking at the port Soda packages Tips Excursions Room service tips (I'm only including this in my list so I remember to bring cash) Anything else I should plan for? Thanks!

Darkwolfe Posted December 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Some of that stuff on your list you can prepay before you even get to the ship. I find that very handy to avoid forgetting things. Soda packages, tips and excursions fall into that category very well. As for cruise fare, well, you already paid that by now or you aren't going.
Rancher Dave Posted December 31, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2010 Passports! A couple seated at our table on the Jewel this month drove to Port Everglades from South Carolina and forgot theirs. They joined us on day 4 in Aruba. Wow, that is a big miss. They are with my set sail pass and my packing list as I get the packing going... OP, you do seem to have a good list going. Sunscreen is another you will want to take...it is kind of expensive at the destination...heck I think it's expensive at Walmart the last few times I bought some. Have a great cruise. How 'bout meals in ports of call? DW and I are both obsessive planners, too - the list looks familiar. ONLY 39 DAYS LEFT??? Why are you procrastinating??:D
MrsPete Posted January 2, 2011 #25 Share Posted January 2, 2011 Will you buy any new clothes for the cruise? You'll need meals on the road. Depending upon your port, you may avoid parking at the port by choosing a hotel that offers free parking.
