Glory Main Deck All the Way Forward ?

So I just booked my first cruise today on the Glory going to Canada in June.

I booked a 1A, room 2202, which is on the may deck, all the way forward. It has a single bed and a sofa bed. How bad is this ride going to be? Since I've never cruised before, I don't know much about motion sickness. Also, I've heard these rooms can be loud due to the waves crashing.

Any advice would be great. We booked this room since we are on a tight budget, it is are first cruise, and it is only 4 nights, so how bad can it be?!

Hello,

I myself have never had a 1A cabin, however I have a family member who cruises with us and she only books thses rooms. They are a great value ecspecially if you only use your cabin to sleep. They are all the way forward and she has mentioned there is a bit of noise when the anchor drops but nothing that keeps her awake at night. She has never mentioned the movement up forward being too much of an issue. If you nomaly tend to get motion sickness, be prepared with some non-drowsy Dramamine. I have cruised on the Glory and it is one of my favorite ships, I also have cruised to Canada out of NYC before in August and our experience was the water was as smooth as glass. I hope you enjoy your first cruise.:)

I got woken up very early about half the mornings .. even the last morning, when the channel was filled up and we had to wait so our ship had to circle around and the stablizers I guess kicked in.. loud .. waves crashing dont usually bother me, though they can be loud. I dont expect a cabin on a ship to be silent. It just aint going to happen, there will be something to keep you awake or wake you up... so dont worry about it.

We had cabin 1201 (right below 2201) on Glory last month and we could definitely hear the waves crashing against the ship at night. We rather enjoyed the noise as the waves swished and crashed around us.

However, if you are a light sleeper or if the noise of the waves might give you motion sickness you might want to pack some ear plugs and some motion sickness meds.
