temp in Tampa middle of April

Recommended Posts

We will be coming from NJ to Tampa to sail on April 17th.

It will be warm when we get there right?? Just trying to figure out what to pack in out travel bag/carry on for when we arrive. Shorts and tshirts? or will the kids need a light jacket?

I would bring a light jacket. Highs 70-80 and lows 50-60. But I live in Florida and 60 is chilly to me, but that depends on where you are from.

The average high (based on 30 years) in Tampa in the middle of April is 80 and the normal low is 62.

April is normally one of the driest months of the year. Normally less than 2 inches of rain falls in the entire month.

Thunderstorms can hit in April and produce severe weather, but these are rare and don't last very long. The Tampa Bay area has been hit by tornadoes in April in the past. But again, the chances in any give year are very slim.
