serene56 Posted January 24, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2011 side of the ship makes no difference. In some ports one side will be facing port- the next port facing the waters. Do not base your selection on what you can view- you could be disappointed.
westmich Posted January 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I, too, was trying to figure out which side would be best. On other itineraries, we have found one side might be better than another. However, several other CC members have advised me that the side facing port changes depending on what other ships are in that day. They may pull in bow (front) first on one cruise, yet stern (rear) first on the next. I also heard whichever side you are on, you will be facing a couple of islands at some point.... The only strong suggestion for one side over another came from someone who said that if you were on the starboard side, you will face the Pitons on the approach to St. Lucia.
