djcass4199 Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 On our cruise in October, my fiancee and I will be using my Discover card for our sail and sign cards. We are also bringing cash for shore excursions and the casino. IF we have left over cash at the end of the trip, can I pay cash at the pursers desk towards the balance on our S&S before we leave? This will be my 3rd cruise on Carnival and I've never tried to do this, as I've always just let it all get charged to my cc. Thanks!
justjen321 Posted January 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I believe the answer to that is yes.
CruisinKelly Posted January 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2011 You sure can, some ships even have a kiosk that you can put the cash in to apply it to your account.

Gumby&Pokey Posted January 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2011 you sure can, I won 2700 the last sea day and went down and paid my entire bill, left the ship the next day with a zero balance:D
near the beach Posted January 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2011 You can pay cash any time on your cruise to lower your sail & sign card balance. We carry traveler’s checks to do this. We cash them on board to get spending cash and use the rest on our sail & sign card. Any checks left over are saved until the next cruise. :)
Rena921 Posted January 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Or....keep your sign & sail balance on your Discover card and then when you get home take your left over cash and pay on your balance. This way you will still get your cash back points. ;)
FlaGrl4Evr Posted January 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Yes you can. We did the exact same thing. We put down our AMX card and the morning we were to debark, went down and paid off the entire balance in Cash. This was not our original plan but we did not spend as much as we anticipated we would on our S&S and it just felt good to leave our vacation without charges on the card. The only thing that we could not pay-off in cash was the FCC that we purchased on board. This is billed separate on your credit card. This charge showed up on our AMX about 48 hrs after the cruise. waldocruiser1 Posted January 27, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2011 We do the same, we pay our s&s bill with cash as much as often. So I am wondering, if the end of the cruise comes and you don't have enough room on your credit card, and don't have cash, does that mean you just keep living on the ship, because all bills must be paid in full on debarkation day. Coolway to get a free cruise.

Nope...thus the reason for the hold they put on your account;) Once you hit or are near that hold they ask for another hold and if you have no funds you have no sail and sign account for the rest of the cruise.
