BURNSMN Posted February 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Don't know if it is something with my computer but I can't find any Dawn Sailings for the next few months on the NCL Website.
PeleNipsy Posted February 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Interesting! I'm not pulling any up either and I have a reservation later this month!!! June 2011 is the next sailing I can find. Umm... I hope my cruise isn't cancelled! I have my first Owner's Suite booked.
TSTSmom Posted February 1, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I was just looking for my sailing as well, as my final payment is due this week. I saw nothing before June!
PeleNipsy Posted February 1, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2011 My reservation is still listed under MyNCL. I'm starting to get nervous that something made them decide to take her into dry dock early.
BURNSMN Posted February 1, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted February 1, 2011 My reservation is still listed under MyNCL. I'm starting to get nervous that something made them decide to take her into dry dock early. My thoughts exactly!
FuninWB Posted February 1, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I think possibly the first two sailings are sold out... May 27 and June 3. They were close to it earlier in the week. We are on the May 27 sailing, and balconies have been sold out for a long time.
Tink10 Posted February 1, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I'm booked for the March 5th Dawn sailing & I've been checking the availability & was stunned that it disappeared. I'm able to check availability on other cruise websites...Now I'm scared
FuninWB Posted February 1, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Sorry... I was only looking at Bermuda sailings. I'm not sure about the others.
PeleNipsy Posted February 1, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2011 On the phone right now with the travel agent finding out!
PeleNipsy Posted February 1, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 1, 2011 According to NCL, it must be a problem with their website because they are still showing availability for these sailings. Phew.
Nickkle Posted February 1, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Just got off the phone with NCL - he told me he is still able to pull up availability on the February 25th cruise sailing. Maybe computer programming error? unlikely... I'm thinking drydock is in order right now.. and I bet they are drafting up an offical press release as we speak. TSTSmom Posted February 1, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 1, 2011 ok, so worst case she does go to dry dock early. What would that mean for $ being held for the reservation and cruise cancellation? Anyone have prior experience with this?
bostoncruisegal Posted February 1, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I have actually been stalking CC all day to see if anyone else noticed, as well as stalking NCL to see if the sailings come back. I am a bit nervous too, as we got a great deal on the 4/17 sailing, and airfare is booked.
cheney_23 Posted February 1, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 1, 2011 You guys are scaring me! We are booked on the Dawn in March... When I log into My NCL, the cruise is there... that makes me think it was just an error.... but... when I try to search for Dawn sailings... you can't even click the Dawn.... Can I officially worry now?!?
PeleNipsy Posted February 1, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 1, 2011 At least your sailings are little ways out! My sailing is 2/25 and we have three suites in our group. The tale gets more interesting as the suites for all Epic Carribbean sailings are showing as sold out now. If they were to pull the Dawn, the logic place to try and keep the people booking suites happy would be the Epic...
cheney_23 Posted February 1, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I called and talked with someone who said my sailing March 20 is NOT sold out and I am good because I am paid in full... He even looked at the website and found the same thing.... He said the sailing is still going on and he would let IT know... I do, however, wonder though if they are pulling into dry dock early if they are keeping quiet... we have 4 OV rooms. In regards to moving the sailing to the Epic I would enjoy a trip on the Epic... assuming the price stays the same! Had this happened before where ships go into dry dock early?? Never had this experience before???
jaja Posted February 1, 2011 #17 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Wow..I do feel for you all ......and wish you well...! And hoping it is all just a computer glitch...;) NOT knowing what is happening is the worst! NCL...has had a problem recently with communication (or should I say lack thereof)--as witnessed by our Jewel December problem with delayed drydock/cruise...... All I can say is calling NCL does not necessarily yield accurate info....and even that info can change by the hour.....:( Hope NCL is monitoring this thread...so you all can get info... dznymom Posted February 1, 2011 #18 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I really hope it's just a computer glitch! NCL it's not nice to tease people that are drowning in snow!
familyof4cruising Posted February 1, 2011 #19 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I noticed it this morning. I think it's odd. I thought it was a glitch and hoping it still is. Febuary, March, April and May is a long time for the Dawn to go into dry dock.
PeleNipsy Posted February 1, 2011 #20 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Yes, it's a long time, BUT... The Dawn was already having problems and dry dock was already moved up to May to fix that. Perhaps they are having more problems that haven't been announced yet, and have decided that it was best just to take her out of commission to do all of the renovations at once. Isn't there talk that they are going to add suites like the Star? Maybe this has been moved up and will now be done with no passengers on board. (Afterall, there were alot of complaints about the noise during the Star's updates.) It just seems really odd. Like there's some explaination other than what we're getting... tlm Posted February 2, 2011 #21 Share Posted February 2, 2011 We're on the Feb 11 sailing and I know it went offline a couple of days ago. I understand it's very close to selling out so that's probably why. Toni
Nickkle Posted February 2, 2011 #22 Share Posted February 2, 2011 Toni, My crusie on Feb 25th was taken off as well. After further investigation, the rep on the phone said there were rooms left on cruise. Dawn's sailings have not sold out up until June 2011.. That would be insane had it been true! familyof4cruising Posted February 2, 2011 #23 Share Posted February 2, 2011 I hope NCL fixes their computers soon we can stop speculating.
JMA Posted February 2, 2011 #24 Share Posted February 2, 2011 I just called my TA and he said that NCL is just working on their computer. He went to the NCL TA site and he could still book a new cabin on the Feb 25th sailing. So NO worries.....:) Jane
Koshlong Posted February 2, 2011 #25 Share Posted February 2, 2011 I just looked at one of the major online travel agencies and the sailings are there. It must be a glitch on the NCL site.
