Does Carnival still do escargot as an appetizer in the main dining room?

 

I had it on my last Carnival cruise in 2007 and it was excellent!!! For those who have had it recently, is it still good (assuming it's still available)?

We were on the Freedom last August and they offered it on one of the formal nights then. It was good and I am glad that I ordered it, but the best escargot that I have had was on Celebrity.

I don't know about Carnival, but Celebrity had it always available and it is excellent. Out of the 14 nights, I'll bet I ordered them 4 times.

They had it on our Conquest cruise this past November and it was really good!!!

hal chwfs have 2 versions

 

one is the original with garlic

 

the other one is with cheese -- not very good

I was on the Dream last June & they had escargot. So yummy!!! Wish I ordered two actually.

I will be sailing the Dream this upcoming June & I'm looking forward to eating some escargot :)

I would say NCL does a great escargot. Every Cruise, I always order 3 and my DW pretends she does not know me. Got to have good bread to mop up all the liquid goodness after the escargot is eaten.

Disney Cruise Line also serves escargot as an appetizer at one of the dinners in the main dining room. To me, when I have them, they always taste like garlic mushrooms.

Just saw the new menu posted, and yes it is still there. All that garlic, it's great when you both eat it. (couple) or if you don't plan on breathing near anyone anytime soon, GO FOR IT!:D

HAL has very good escargot-though I have had excellent escargot at two restaraunts in my area(one was a Spanish restaraunt that served them as tapas-delicious!)

Sailed on Carnival Pride last June and tried escargot for the first time.

It was really good although all you really taste is the butter and garlic.

I had it on a 7 day cruise on the Conquest last year. It was the first time I had tried it and I wasnt a big fan of it. I believe it was served on the first formal night that trip.

It's the quality of the garlic butter and the crispy fresh bread rolls delivered while hot. Sopping sauce and the little meaty treat are a great combination. :cool:

You kind of have to forget about what you're eating(tricky, because most of the time, snails are served in their shells).I love 'em.They're certainly not for everyone.Plus, it probably doesn't hurt that I love garlic and butter!

Celebrity has in on the everyday menu. Last year on the Eclipse TA my husband was ordering it every night. Near the end of the cruise they ran out of snails so started making it with lobster. The waiter was very apologetic about the change but it was delicious. As posted above, it is all about the garlic butter.

I have had it on Princess and LOVED it! Now if they severed it in the shell I probably couldn't get pass that! lol

Oh Carolyn I agree with you! They are the BEST I have ever had. DH finally tried them and now he likes them too. Only differences is I LOVE THEM! lol

I will be ordering them come this Feb, and hoping to get them at least three nights on a 10 day cruise. :D

Yummmm, escargot.........Have to oder some this coming cruise, and as someone posted, sop up the butter and garlic with the great bread they serve.
