klmorg Posted February 12, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2011 There should be no problem getting them open. For Spirit class ships (yours), parties from both cabins must go to Guest Services & sign up to have them opened. They are open the next day. I suggest you go do this as soon as you get on board, as there have been reports that the number they will open is limited... not sure if that's true, we've never had a problem. JustSu Posted February 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2011 It is true, they will only open 30 partitions because they only have 30 clamps! We were just on the Miracle and we were very, very unhappy to find out that you must go directly to Guest Services AS SOON as you get on board. We thought we were being nice by giving them time to take care of other issues and went down that night to find out that it was limited to 30, first come first served. Out cabin steward told us that they get complaints about it all the time but they cannot do anything about it. His suggestion was instead of clamps they should to use plastic tie straps to secure the partition door to the railing. We have been on the Legend once and the Miracle 2 times with my 2 brother-in-laws and their wives. We always get 3 cabins side by side and were always able to open the partitions on these previous cruises. This is our time to get together once a year and enjoy sitting on the open balcony talking. Needless to say, we will not be on the Miracle or Legend ever again. We are currently looking at other ships or even cruise lines (have only been on Carnival and hate to think we may never be again) for balconies that the partitions can be opened without any problems.:(
