chellebells Posted February 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2011 What are the prices of the bottled water packages on board Allure, are there several different ones?? We just purchased a 24 bottle of Evian package to be delivered to our stateroom and it was $71.10.
WP7 Posted February 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2011 Can water be purchased elsewhere on the ship? I'm just wondering if is cheaper to get water other than the Evian package and delivered to the rooms. Can I bring my own water bottle (empty) and are there places (e.g. buffet or somewhere else) where I can fill it up?

You can get free ice water. But for hygenic reasons please don´t fill up your bottle directly but use one of the glasses and then fill it into your bottle. Or just use tap water (it´s the same water you drink as ice water or any kind of soda and ice cubes). steamboats
CaptData Posted February 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 25, 2011 Take you empty bottle and use glass in room to fill it. Put it in frig (have staff remove the items you don't want from frig and put it in there to cool down a bit.)

Yes, you can easily bring your own water and there are plenty of places to get cases before you head to the cruise port. $6 a case is better than $72 and you can get the sports bottles which are great for adding Crystal Light to. cruisinforabruising Posted March 1, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2011 How do you bring it on board? Do you bring it in your carry on or do you put a luggage tag on it (I've seen this posted somewhere) and check it?
Jmeyers Posted September 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2013 Can you bring water onboard? IS there Crystal light or did you bring your own?
PGI2014 Posted September 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 6, 2013 We slap a luggage tag on the case of water and put it with all of our other luggage to be taken by the luggage handlers at the Port - they always take it for us.
jakesmom04 Posted September 6, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 6, 2013 I use the crystal light (Walmart version) and just fill my travel bottle from a glass. I have drank the water in the dining room and never had a problem. I myself, can't see paying the 70+ dollars for the bottle water onboard. DaNana Posted September 7, 2013 #12 Share Posted September 7, 2013 Used to carry it on, now we have Brita bottles with filters and carry the flavor packets if we want it. We have saved time and some dollars by this method. I will not go back to buying the water after this.

We are thinking of trying RCL next March, we had heard that you are not allowed to take water or soda on board. We usually go with Princess and we have always bought our water and soda before heading to the ship and just carried it through. Has anyone had their water confiscated before boarding? Pebbles468 Posted September 7, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 7, 2013 I thought water was considered like alcohol -- unable to carry on board. Is this not the case and you can bring your own water?? I just ordered a case at $71.00 ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a case of water -- can get it from Costco for $8.00!!
Rare Lionesss Posted September 7, 2013 #15 Share Posted September 7, 2013 This past July on the Allure Saw cases of water and Coca cola (diet) go thru with luggage tags on them. So they still permitted them then. Sea Ya
A2Mich Posted September 7, 2013 #16 Share Posted September 7, 2013 I can't see spending that kind of money for bottled water--especially considering where most bottled water comes from. My tap water at home is better than most bottled water.
Pebbles468 Posted September 7, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 7, 2013 I just looked at the recent cruise compass from the Allure August 25th sailing. In the "Day 1" Daily Offers it says "Water Package ~ Save up to 25% ... get this offer by completing a water package form at Cafe Promenade" ***... no benefit to ordering in advance?? Has anyone recently used this??
cb at sea Posted September 7, 2013 #18 Share Posted September 7, 2013 Bottled water comes from a tap....just like you get at home from your kitchen sink! The ship's water is purer than most bottled waters...no need to pay for water at all.

A2Mich Posted September 8, 2013 #20 Share Posted September 8, 2013 I see that once again comments are being needlessly removed. I posted a legitimate comment about most ports having excellent quality water which was removed Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Pebbles468 Posted September 8, 2013 #21 Share Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) Perhaps the comments are removed because they are snarky..... I think people know they don't "have" to buy water and they can drink tap -- however, they choose to have bottled water. They don't want to pay $71.00/case though -- that's where HELPFUL comments provide info. I'm sure there are others, like myself, who thought water was treated like alcohol and not allowed to be carted on board. Which is why I purchased a $71/case of water .... But having found out you can carry a case on board -- I can cancel my order. Edited September 8, 2013 by Pebbles468
A2Mich Posted September 8, 2013 #22 Share Posted September 8, 2013 Well you had made a comment regarding wanting bottled water in foreign countries. I replied that most foreign countries have water quality comparable to or equal to the US, with the exception of some parts of Mexico. And THAT was removed? Maybe CC is sponsored by a bottled water manufacturer.... Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
