Carnival Triumph Past, Present, and Future!!!

Hi, I know some ships show movies at night outside. Does anyone know if the Triumph does this. Thank You

No they do not,If your talking about the Big screens out on deck.I have been on the Tiumph last year about this time and there in no outdoor movie screen.

I was on the Triumph Eastern the week of May 6. They showed two movies that week on the Lido deck - One on Monday night and one on Wednesday night. I double checked my capers - and yep it was there!:) Wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming....

There is no "Big Screen" on the Triumph.

I didn't really pay much attention. Maybe it is a portable screen?? When the question was asked - I thought I remembered seeing people on the Lido watching "Walk the Line" - so I got out my capers and sure enough - there it was. They did the same on New Year's Eve when we watched the ball drop live from New York!

 

When I am on her again this New Year's I will pay more attention and let you know...:D

 

Or better yet - book your New Year's on the Triumph and check it out!;)

Wow that is good news,I stand corrected.Has there been any other changes to the ship scence i was on there last(June 2005)??

Hey Kenholt - fellow Jax cruiser - Big Duck could probably answer that question better than me. I was on her in Dec 05 and she looked the same in May 06. We even had some of the same crew members and that was a real plus!! I can't believe some remembered me... especially the casino hostess :eek:

 

I think Duck told me that the Triumph had been through a dry dock sometime last year - well - you know how these threads run together in your mind - so I think that is true. Maybe he will see this and let you know. He is the real Triumph expert.

 

No change on the drive to Miami though - it is still LONG....;)

Triumph was drydocked from late October to mid-November.

 

There really was no major changes, just some sprucing up, new carpets and such.

 

I was on her in March, and she was in great shape, no MUTS screen though.

I will be going on the truimph quite soon and am so excited-I havnt sailed with Carnival before and am really keen to see what it is like and reading all ure posts has got me so excited.

 

I was wondering if you could tell me more about what the production shows are like particulary the vegas style dancing shows-what type of dancing is it and what are the shows called and do you think they are good and worth going to see?

I love the shows , esp the singing/dancing shows and am really keen to know what these would be like on the truimph.:D

Hi. Just got back from the Triumph a week and a half ago. I thought the production shows were great. The first one was "Wonderful World" (or something like that). The second show was "Century Cafe". I used to teach dance and these dancers were some of the best I have seen at sea. Way better than the Glory dancers a couple of years ago. The male and female leads, Kevin & Randi were also pretty good. They perform so many different songs, they were just good with some, great with others. The magic show was a hoot. They also did an adults only magic show at midnight. My husband said it was great and the dancers' costumes were skimpier. Have a great cruise. Wish I was cruising again soon.

Hey kenholt - What date are you traveling? Your signature says 17 days? We are going to PC on the 29th of June - there are 5 of us. My mom/dad/daughter and her boyfriend. This is a short 4 nighter on the Fantasy. This will be a new experience for me since I have never had an OV - always a balcony!:eek:

 

In December - two of my friends are flying into Jax from Ohio and we are driving to Miami on Friday the 29th to board the Triumph on Sat - We will be sailing for 2 weeks!! YAY!! :D

Thank you so much for that info and Im really pleased to hear that the shows and dancers are really good..............ooohhhh..............Im so excited now and I cant wait-I know alot of cruisers dont go for the shows but that is one of my favorite parts of cruising -I like the sound of the adults magic show-hee hee:rolleyes: !

 

Im asuming the "Century Cafe" show was dances etc from the various centuries and the "wonderful world" is dances from around the world??

 

I really envy those singers and dancers-what a wonderful way to earn a living, entertaining on a cruise ship:D

I do prefer Broadway style shows most of the time so Im wondering whether these 2 shows are more of a "funky" sytle-Im hoping not too "hip,hoppy"!!

 

Well, I am beside myself with excitement and cant wait and am counting down the days.

This is one area that looked as though it was bypassed on the last drydock. I will be going on her again next April so I guess this area will most likely just have another year of use but if folks just keep saying that the ship is in great shape without commenting on the, to me, obvious need of maintenamce in this or any area there will be less incentive to fix it.

Hmm, I don't seem to recall using the words pristine or perfect. Obviously these things didn't affect your vacation (and it is a vacation, not an inspection tour) very much, or you wouldn't be sailing on her again next year.

 

If you think Carnival schedules what to do and not to do to a ship during drydock, based on what they read on Cruise Critic, you are sadly mistaken. :rolleyes:

My comment was not directed to you specifically, but folks do say that the ship is "in great shape" when there are areas or an area that is definitely in need of attention. I was not on an inspection tour but a major venue such as the show room should not be let go to the extent I believe it has. No, I do not expect Carnival to jump to it on my remarks, maybe they should LOL, but if enough folks make the same observation it wouldn't hurt. As I noted this did not detract from my enjoyment of the ship and will be on her again next year.

We attended several of the shows in the Rome Lounge and didn't notice any excessively worn upholstery or stained carpet. Based on your description, I think we would have noticed this, as we attended several shows and other events in the showroom. Guess we just aren't that picky or maybe it was cleaned up by the time we got there. We sailed on the Triumph 5/20-27.

Ooooh, Penthouse suite. How cool is that? When in Dec are you sailing? We are on Triumph on Dec 2, but we are on the upper deck, close to the atrium. Would love to peek in at your cabin for just a minute and see the difference. You are not on our roll call so I assume you are not on our sailing either. DRATS! We only have 160 days to go now. Can't wait!

Triumph will be moving to New Orleans next year, so we get to start a whole new chapter. :D

Will be criusing wk of 11/18/06 Triumph. Family of four Dad (Me) Scott and Wife Donna, boy age 15(David) girl age 13 (Indy). Just found out we will be in room 1052 on the Panorama Deck. From the boards it seens to be good floor to be on.Will be with a group of 13. Lots of teen's(6).Ages 13-18.

I was in cabin 1047 on the Panorama and this deck has become my deck of choice. Will be there again in December for 2 weeks btb. You will love this deck!

 

Duck - I am not as happy as you are that the Triumph is moving to NOLA :( - but I will be sure and give her a grand good bye in January!! :D
