cruisingallover Posted March 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2011 Going to take the train from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. Once there what are the must sees?
Bet & Peg Posted March 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2011 A canal trip is great and takes about an hour/hour and a half. Degas and Rijksmuseum fabulous. We completely enjoyed the Heineken Experience and a walk through the Red Light District! The Ann Frank House is very moving - if you have tickets ahead - its very crowded otherwise. If you have just a day trip then you have to choose what your interests are. But a "heads-up" right opposite the side of Central Station is an office of IAM Amsterdam with tourist info and they also sell day passes for the trams - great way to get around! cruisingallover Posted March 10, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted March 10, 2011 How long does it take to get from Rotterdam to Amsterdam by train? Is it easy? Do they use Euros?
KirkNC Posted March 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2011 I think it is about 45 minutes and yes Holland uses euros. To the OP, I would have to go to Anne Frank's house. We will include that in our 2012 visit when we sail the Prinsendam out of Amsterdam. Kirk

hylasgirl Posted March 12, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2011 Ann Frank House for sure! We'll never forget going through there. Yes... prebook a reservation time and you'll bypass a huge line and walk right in.
Ine Posted March 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2011 More information about what to do/see in Amsterdam: http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting/things-to-do Remember you need extra time to get from/to the Rotterdam cruise terminal than just the trainride. UKBayern Posted March 12, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2011 How long does it take to get from Rotterdam to Amsterdam by train? Is it easy? Do they use Euros? There are two options. The normal tain takes a little over an hour, and cost EUR 26,80 pp for a day return. The highspeed train (Fyra or Thalys) takes 43 minutes and costs EUR 16,10 per single trip.
