tadurham Posted March 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2011 I've read alot on CC about private vs. cruise excursions. I have some specific concerns: 1. It looks like the falls are climbed in masses of people holding hands. I assume these are cruise ship excursions. It sounds as though some people who have gone private were able to enjoy the area before everyone else got there, and that they didn't climb holding hands in a long line. Please advise..... 2. We will be in Falmouth next week, and while I have successfully booked private excursions in the past, I am very concerned with doing so on this cruise. I'm concerned about the distance from the cruiseport to Dunn River Falls and other areas. When you're with the cruiseship excursion you won't be left behind. If you go private, the distance adds more risk of being held up or late (flat tire? closed road? stranded without a ride?, etc.) and left behind. Please advise.... 3. I've heard mention of Marva and Peat as excellent excursion leaders. Are there any others you might recommend? I have found some while searching the internet, but I'm really concerned about the possibility of meeting unfortunate bad luck and missing the boat! Thanks for sharing any information! Sorry if you have already made a reply with the same information, but I appreciate you sharing it again!
