I would like to hear any kind of feedback on either Major Marine or 26 Glacier for tours on the day we board our ship? Pros or Cons? How is the food? Is it really worth it to do this when we will be cruising Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay on our cruise? Thanks everyone!:)

I have only taken the 26 Glacier tour and it was fine. The ship was very smooth and got quite close to many glaciers. Food was average, at best. There are numerous discounts (military, Alaska Airlines, maybe AAA (I forgot]

but you must ask them. They do not volunteer this information.

I'm doing the 26 glacier tour next month and they offered for lunch either fish or chicken, can you tell me if the fish is any good, or should I stick w/ chicken? thanks

Gosh, I don't remember exactly what we had. Like I said, food quality was average at best. Nothing to get excited about.

My wife works for one of the companies that offers a choice of crab cakes or chicken. I always go with the crab cakes since you can get chicken anywhere. Once had local fish and chips on one of the trips that was fantastic.

These boat tours are FAR superior to anything seen from your cruise ship. I have sailed with both of these operators, which offer excellent tours.
