Feelin' Nauti' Posted September 4, 2013 #52 Share Posted September 4, 2013 You'll poke somebody's eye out:eek: Good one!!!! ~ I am debating to get the traveling umbrella or not. Would make it affordable than renting at each beach we go to. As for using one on a cruise. :D Well one day we couldn't find shade near the pool. Had the brainy idea to use my Rain Umbrella. :D don't look at the pool hair :o

AMBV-USA Posted August 2, 2015 #54 Share Posted August 2, 2015 Can I take it on cruise ship?
dacsmom Posted August 2, 2015 #55 Share Posted August 2, 2015 I too was imagining the really big umbrella. I could only imagine trying to get it off the ship in port with all the people crowding together trying to get off the ship. The fold up one in the picture looks like an interesting concept, but how strong is it?
marci22 Posted August 2, 2015 #56 Share Posted August 2, 2015 This is an old thread, but as I was reading I saw the answer I gave 4 years ago and it is the same answer I would give now.
Scotty G Posted August 2, 2015 #57 Share Posted August 2, 2015 Good golly, someone resurrected an ancient post. Isn't there an old post graveyard?
tinkertoy9000 Posted August 2, 2015 #58 Share Posted August 2, 2015 If this were to become a popular practice, I can just see the signs popping up at the beaches: "Guests are not permitted to bring food, beverages, or beach umbrellas onto this property". :D I think that you should for sure look at Royal's list of prohibited items. If a surf board is prohibited I bet a beach umbrella would be also. A regular umbrella yes, but not a regular beach umbrella.

Philly Steve Posted August 2, 2015 #60 Share Posted August 2, 2015 Upon debarkation you may be wondering "why the heck did I bring this thing?" It's easier to take a little extra cash for your beach set ups.
barbon2 Posted August 3, 2015 #61 Share Posted August 3, 2015 This is an "unusual" thread. Most of the beaches on the islands do have umbrellas to rent. If you are flying to your departure port, check with the airlines. Also, not sure of all of your stops, but I do not know if an umbrella would be allowed on a tender, if it's a port where you tender. I guess we all bring things that we consider "normal" that others do not think about. Barb
