ScottToronto Posted April 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2011 Good morning fellow cruisers, We are staying at the Barbados Hilton December 10th, 2011 for one night before boarding the Silver Spirit. Can anyone recommend a restaurant for dinner? Last time in Barbados a couple of years ago, we stayed at the Barbados Hilton (pre-boarding the Silver Shadow), we dined at "The Cliff". The ocean view was beautiful, the food was spectacular and the service was first class. We were thinking of Cobblers Cove for dinner since we stayed there about 10 years ago and the food was wonderful but are looking for something a little more trendy and closer to the Hilton. Happy Sailing! Regards, ScottToronto
barbados Posted April 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2011 If you loved The Cliff, you'll love Champers. Just a few minutes from you and one of the best restaurants on the island. (I have no vested interest in this establishment, just personal experience) ENJOY :) :) :)
Aplmac Posted April 30, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2011 Yes, Champers at the Eastern end of Rockley Beach Skeete's Hill is the correct street address.. -or TAPAS (on the boardwalk) -which is even closer to Hilton 39 Steps is even closer again! -all of them way better value for money than the hugely-overpriced Cliff.. . Or would you recommend another place. thanks, sheryl Just Grillin is perfect for lunch-just across the South Coast Main Road from Rockley and the Accra Beach Hotel (they face ea.other..) You might also get a lunch nibble right there at the beach, without even going as far as Just Grillin but I'm sure your instincts and your nose will lead you in the right direction. There's a cluster of four or six snack shacks right on the beach (some better than others i.e. avoid Chicken George, we've all read) -that's what I'm referring to. . cephasde Posted May 28, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2011 We went to Just Grillin this past Thursday. It was very, very good. I had the grilled marlin sandwich with cole slaw and grilled potatoes. Very large portions! Very reasonable prices. We loved Rockley Beach, rented two loungers for $10 BD. Hope to go back soon. This week we are planning another trip to Rockley Beach and want to try Ackee Tree for chicken roti. Sheryl

cephasde Posted June 1, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2011 We spent a lovely morning at Rockley Beach this past Monday then walked across the street to Ackee Tree. We had chicken/pumpkin/channa/potato rotis with nice warm mango sauce. This is Trinidadian/Guyanese creole style cooking at its best. In trouble is right! Big trouble. Ackee Tree roti is by far the best. Delicious!! We have to go home this Saturday but will definitely be stopping in for another roti. The restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside but inside is very nice, comfortable, and clean. If you sit by the windows facing south you will get a lovely fresh breeze. Cheers, Sheryl
Josie2 Posted June 28, 2011 #9 Share Posted June 28, 2011 One of the most romantic dinners ever. We have always liked Champers and go there at least once on our 10 day stay in BBD, but Pisces is even better. I don't know where your hotel is in relation to that though. We were at Accra and took a short taxi ride there.
mrar Posted September 27, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Hey all, I'm looking for a Beautiful beach in Barbados with a great restaurant close by (price doesn't matter but would prefer a memorable experience whether it's upscale, local, or a cool beach bar) and drinks on the beach. Any recommendations?
mrar Posted September 28, 2011 #11 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Appologies, I meant to start my own thread and apparently - almost ironically replied to this one that looks like it may answer my question. :o
tuffy0317 Posted October 14, 2011 #12 Share Posted October 14, 2011 I ditto Champers or Tapas. Also Pisces is good, as is Cafe Luna in the Little Arches Hotel (very romantic!).
